Re: Machine stopping

Whenever mine does that, I just press start (the green or red button) on the machine again and mine usually starts back up.

How can I stop my material sliding around when I am sewing?

Basic Tips for All
  1. Always turn the handwheel TOWARDS you (counter clockwise) as turning it in the opposite direction (away from you, clockwise) may knock the timing out requiring repair from a service center.
  2. Always be sure your presser foot is in the DOWN position before sewing. Sewing with the presser foot in the up position will cause your thread to tangle and your bobbin to jam.
  3. Change needles regularly (after 16 hours of use) as dull/weak needles can cause damage to your machine and fabric. Only use SINGER needles on your SINGER sewing machine.
  4. Always be sure you are using the correct bobbin for your machine. Class 66, Class 15 and Class 15J bobbins look very similar. However, using the incorrect bobbin class in your machine can cause damage.

I have a Singer 7285Q sewing machine that comes up with a "E-7" message and the machine won't work. It only happens when I use "back stitch" button. My instruction manual has no mention of an

E7 means
The start/stop button, reverse/reinforcement stitch button
or the thread cutter button was pressed while no thread
cassette was installed. If the start/stop button is pressed before the sewing machine is correctly set up or if an operation is performed
incorrectly, an error message appears in the stitch indicator. Follow the instructions that appear.
If you press (Stitch selection key) or do the operation correctly while the error message is displayed, the
message disappears

Machine sews 5 stitches stops, sews another 5 stitches, stops?

What happens when it stops? Do you get an error message? Does it say that it's out of thread? Are you doing embroidery, or sewing at the time?

I keep getting "check and rethread the upper thread" error message

Hi....I also kept getting the check and rethread upper thread message, I\'d sew about 15 stitches and it\'d stop. Here\'s what I did. On the left of the machine, in the back there is a screw....loosen that screw, take cover off, then lift straigt up and out on the cover that has the 3 on it in your threading seqence. Next, I started inspecting and cleaning the thread route from top to bottom. Lo and behold....I get to the place where you come down the front of the machine and turn to go back up and I spot a little slit in the plastic piece so, when I was threading the machine I guess I was pulling it to far to the left causing it to wear a little slit in that, I finished cutting it off with a utility knife, used an emery board to smooth it down, put the covers back on and it works GREAT!!!! Who would\'ve ever that it\'d be so easy and save me a bunch of money!!! I sure hope this helps someone.

I am trying to embroidery on my futura ce200 and it starts then stops, giving message thread breakage but thread is not broken

I have this problem when the thread isn't locked into position under the clear plastic guide on top of the machine. You have to hear it click 2 times on the right hand side. You have to pull the tread kinda hard. Hope this helps.

Bobbon thread is too losse /thread breaks no

Clean out the bobbin area.

Thread the machine with the presser foot up. This opens the tension so the thread can enter. Threading with the foot down closes the tension and the thread cannot enter as it should. When you sew, the top thread is loose and cannot properly connect with the bobbin thread to form a tight stitch. The stitching does not hold and pulls right out.

Thread breakage - top thread? Check the thread spool to be sure there aren't any nicks to catch the thread.

When the thread breaks, check the spool pin to see if the thread is unwinding too fast and wrapping around the pin. Thread nets can help stop this. You can find them at sewing machine dealers.

Singer CE-150: Constant error messages, thread breakage, etc.

Check the sensor at the top of the machine. It is where the thread passes through the plastic "u-turn". Check to see if the wheel turns when you pull the thread through the machine. The wheel has a red marking on it. If the wheel isn't turning when you pull the thread, it may not be sensing the threading correctly.

I hope this helps. God bless you!

"thread breakage detected"

I had the same problem and one day my 9 year old said Mommy the thread is winding and cathing. I noticed that if the thread is not close to the silver metal arm it coils and makes a knot around the silver feed arm and also sometimes it cathces the little white plastic peace where the silver feed arm is connected to the machine.
