could be a few things. 1. you could have a bad memory stick . if you have 2 sticks of memory try removing 1 of them and restarting if it works the the stick that you took out was the bad 1 if not then replace the 1you removed and remove the other and restart again. if that dont work then could have hard drive problem. try to start off in safe mode by pressing f8 a few time when you start your laptop the go to the option same mode with command prompt. then it will tell you ab out minimal drivers and graphics card just click yes the it will as you which windows partition click on 1 because thats the default, then it will ask you for admin password if never set 1 the click enter. then it will take you to the Windows C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk/r you will type this will start and try and fix any problems you may have. ok you can start out with those simple ones 1st
Hi, once the computer is booted to windows successfully go to the "Device Manager" find the "Smart Card" Device and then right click on the device. Click on the "properties" and click on the "Drivers" tab. Then click "Disable" disable the Hardware. Click on "OK" and "APPLY". Restart the computer. This will resolve the issue.
It's a Weird Issue: You can try pressing the Notebook under the two "ALT" buttons(Don't press the 'ALT' buttons), this is required to be done whenever you are booting.
It sounds like windows doesn't like a driver that zone alarm installed... when the PC starts, just tap on F8 a few times until the screen pops up to offer you to go into safe mode... select "Last known configuration" (i.e. the configuration that worked prior to installing zone alarm...
it should reboot and all should be well...
Check the version of Zone Alarm to ensure it is compatible with Windows 7...
SMART or smart or S.M.A.R.T. stands for - Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology or S.M.A.R.T. it is a monitoring system for computer hard drives to detect and report on various indicators of reliability, in the hope of anticipating failures. Heed the warnings. Do not ignore them.
usually means you have multiple badsectors, it can be repaired using your HD manufacturer bootable cd but usually its just a matter of time before it rolls over and dies. your best option is to image the drive with something like clonezilla or just backup your important files to a cd or dvd and buy another HD off a site like newegg.

Another suggestion is run your Acer driver DVD for installing Display drivers. When finish restart your laptop and watch whats going. If no success then format the Operating system & reinstall again.
crashing a few times in order to boot can be caused by corrupted boot files that Windows required.
Try do a "scan for bad sectors" checkdisk (Right click C: in My Computer, click Properties. Click Tools tab and then Check Now button, tick both option boxes and it should ask to reboot for the bad sector check.
You can also use HDD Regenerator to fix corrupted files. Read my other posts for details.
What operating system are you using? If Windows XP, try booting into Safe Mode (Press the F8 key before Windows starts). You may be able to use the Administrator account. Sometimes the Admin account does not have a password associated with it. Once you get in, you can use the User Accounts Control Panel to change the password on your account (this all assumes that you are using a local profile and not a server profile). Give that a try and let me know if you have success.
Is this in Windows or a bootup of the pc? If at bootup you'll need to reset the bios (can be found in manual) , otherwise you can try a reinstall of windows with the cds you got with the pc. WARNING: if you use this you will all your data on the pc
