SOURCE: My HTC Inspire is stuck

Give this a try from HTC Support:

Power the the phone off

Plug it in to the computer and power on. Should boot into recovery.

Reflash the ROM.

Let the phone update.

If still a problem, hold the vol down when its plugged in and then turn it on and it should boot into recovery.

Hope this helps.

are you able to get into recovery mode?

With the phone turned off, Hold the 'Volume Down' button and the power button until HTC logo appears and 'Entering Recovery Mode' appears at the top in pink.

If you can access recovery then it could be possible to reset/reinstall android OS

try hard resetMaster reset using hardware buttons: HTC Wildfire SVERSION 4 Created on: 15-Aug-2011 09:21 by tmo_brian - Last Modified: 07-Mar-2012 16:29 by tmo_josh_m

To perform a hard reset using the hardware keys, follow these steps:

  • Note: A hard reset restores the original factory settings and erases content, including downloaded ringtones, images, programs, and contacts stored in the internal memory. This feature allows for resetting of sound profiles, display settings, and phone or memory card settings. However, if you want to try resetting some factory settings without losing any data, then clear system cache before a master reset.

  1. Back up all necessary data and synchronize files. See: Prepare for a master reset and back up data on Android
  2. If the phone is plugged into the charger or USB cable, unplug it.
  3. Remove the battery.
    • Important: Removing the battery is required. Turning off the phone with the Power key does not work, because of the Fast Boot feature.
  4. Re-insert the battery.
  5. Press and hold both the Volume Down key and the Power key. Do not release the volume key, continue on to step 6.
  6. Release the Volume Down key when the three Android images appear on the bottom of the screen. The following options display:
      • Note: If you are stuck on a screen that says 'HBOOT' and 'FASTBOOT' without any other options to choose from, it means you have pressed the Back button. To get to the regular options, press either the Power key on HBOOT or the Back button.

  7. Press the Volume Down key twice to select CLEAR STORAGE.
  8. Press the Power key to initiate the master reset.
  9. Press the Volume Up key to confirm Delete all user data.
  10. Wait as the device clears the user data then restarts.

GO to hboot and see if that finishes. the phone should go come on all the way now. Next your going to have to reactivate the phone Set the phone up again. after you get the sim going I would get your gmail back on the phone this should reinstall your contacts and apps on the phone. this should help let me know if this works.
