Did you make sure to charge your iPod for atleast 6 hours?
If you don't, then all the battery will run out before you get to use it.
Plug it back into the charger and leave it for atleast 6 hours.
It won't turn out because it's battery has been drained.
If it hasn't turned on after you have charged it for 6 hours, invest in a new battery for your iPod.

Have you tried plugging it into your computer and restoring the programming? Also, you can try pressing the menu and the center button at the same time for 10 seconds. It should go black (turn off) and then turn back on with the Apple logo. If this doesn't fix your problem, you got something wrong with the hardware, not software.

I have a 30 gb ipod video, the screen says connect to computer use itunes to restore ipod. The problem is the original computer with all my music had its hard drive crash, and i havent backed up my ipod on...

probably not... but you can try these:
while the iPod is plugged in, toggle the hold switch on and off (slide it to hold, then slide it back again), then press and hold the "menu" button and the center button until you see the apple logo on the screen, if this doesn't fix it... try a different USB port (use one on the computer itself, not your keyboard or hub), if this doesn't work... restart your computer and make sure you have the latest updates for your computer, if this doesn't work... call apple at this link:

Ipod is not recognized by itunes. it wont play or charge it just blinks 4 times when i plug it in

  1. The iPod reset utility will reset your iPod shuffle back to it's factory settings. It works for the following shuffles: iPod shuffle (1st Generation) - iPod Software version 1.1.5, iPod shuffle (2nd Generation) - iPod Software version 1.0.3
The reset utility will fix the following issues.
    1. The iPod won't play music and can't be restored using iTunes
    2. iTunes won't see the iPod but you can see it under "My Computer" in windows or under Apple System Profiler on a Mac.
    3. iPod shuffle (1st Generation) is identified as a device in "Recovery mode." iPod shuffle (2nd Generation) is identified as a "USB DFU device."
  2. You have to have administrator privileges to run the restore software and it will wipe out all the information on the iPod (including all your music) and install factory software back onto it.
System requirements are Mac OS X 10.3.9, or later, Win2k with sp4, Win XP, this won't work on Vista.
Download the file for the program here:
    MAC
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ipodresetutility102formac.html
    Windows
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ipodresetutility102forwindows.html
  3. Install the software onto your computer, plug your iPod into the USB port and run the reset program, it will ask for your permission to reset the iPod, answer yes and the process will proceed. After finishing the reset procedure then use iTunes or whatever software is used to access your iPod and load your music. Enjoy your toy!

I have a nano 8GB- How do I load pictures onto it?

1. To load pictures onto your ipod, you need the itunes software which will easily allow you to put photos onto your ipod.
2. When you get the itunes software, it will have an option in the list where your ipod will be listed for you to eject your ipod. It will be a symbol that looks just like any regular eject button. You could also eject your ipod by going to my computer and right clicking on it, and in the list, select eject.
To get the itunes software, you can go to this website and download it: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

My Ipod Nanao silver 4gb 3rd generation will not turn on

start with this page

http://www.fixya.com/support/r561901-ipod_problems_start_5_solutions

Your problem sounds bad, there are a few other possibilities if noting on that page worked:

1. Battery dead
2. mainboard or other failure.

On the bottom of the page you can see the warranty / apple online assistant for haveing your warranty checked and possibly geting repaired for free.

You can also contact your dealer or apple. You might have other warranty with your dealer.

Won't turn on

tammy,

It sounds like you either need a new battery pack, or the iPod itself has to be replaced/upgraded.

Please let me know if this helps. Take care!

Black iPod Nano 8 GB - NOT detected at all!

if you are running the vista os then there isn't much to say but to keep up on all the updates posted.. vista and itunes crashes a lot amongst other issues it is having.. as for the other's, apple doesn't like to make very user friendly software for window's user's unfortunately so it's glitchy at times so it's very important to keep your stuff backed up at all times.. if there is a new version of itunes, make sure you update it too.. double check that you are not running 2 music programs at once bc sometimes that confuses the pc's as well.. are you running on a duo core or regular processor? sometimes you need to sign out of itunes then back in again.. it's just a very unstable program and many people struggle with it.. i hope you get it figured out.. d
