the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: software update lcd tv

The Philips 32PFL5522D does support firmware upgrades.

Only the digital board can be updated by the user. This is done by downloading the firmware on to a memory card (CF) and inserting into a PCMCIA adaptor. This is then inserted into the CI slot at the back of the TV.

The main TV would have to be updated by a Philips service agent using a COMPAIR device.

However, I don't think the problem you describe is to do with firmware.

You could try altering the following settings:

  • Contrast - 65
  • Sharpness - 2
  • Contrast Plus - OFF
  • NR - ON
  • Colour - approx 50
If this doesn't help, then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty lead between the LCD panel and driver board. This is a common problem with this model, but should not be an expensive repair.

I have a 40 inch Mitsubishi Lt - 40151 TV. The sound stopped working need some help getting sound going. Will a software update fix this problem?

Problem can be intermittent. In most instances, normal operation can be restored by installing a software update available on-line to the public at Support Mitsubishi TV under the "Support" tab. If this does not correct your problem, double check your setting and make sure the speakers were not turned off. If you are still having problems then you will need to replace the main board, or the pre amp board. Part# 938P103010. I hope this helps.

Hey it sounds like u have did everything, so check and make sure u downloaded the right firmware on a good USB drive such as a 4GB and make sure format it with Fat32 before u download. Have seen that before with jump drive device and follow directions from Mfg website. If does not work then the CPU or Eprom has been corrupted and main board needs replacing.

The speakers are making a crackling noise that is not effected by the volume

Check the speakers first. If the voice coil of the speaker has any fault, the speaker should be replaced. Connect an other speaker in place of present one, and see whether the crackling sound occurs with it too. If yes, the audio output board to your TV have the fault, and it should be replaced.

I have a Fisher RS-909 Surrond Sound amplifier. It has no "sub out" jack. I had the sub-woofer working in the past by wiring it as shown in the manual. The problem is that the system was in...

Alright i had a chance to look over things, this is how you are going to hook up the sub. first we'll be connecting the surround sound unit to the sub woofer.
surround sound unit sub woofer
left front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) left speaker level in
negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - ->( - ) left speaker level in

right front: positive (+) <-----to------------->(+) right speaker level in
negative ( - )<- - -to- - - - - - >( - ) right speaker level in

now that the surround sound unit is connected to the sub woofer you will need to connect the front surround sound speakers to the sub woofer.
sub woofer front surround sound speaker
left speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) left front speaker
left speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - - ->( - ) left front speaker

right speaker level out (+)<-----to--------> (+) right front speaker
right speaker level out( - ) <- - - to- - - ->( - ) right front speaker

Alright now that the wires are all over the place and plugged in
turn everything on and see how it sounds. let me know if everything is working as it should. if you need help with anything else or if something does not seem right please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone

Make sure to follow the instructions thoroughly on Sony's website. You have to have the folders just right and the update named just right. Make sure to try other USB slots also, you may have a bad USB slot.
