SOURCE: iPod Nano screen on and blank

Try these steps:

http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/

Reset, retry, restart, reinstall, then restore. In that order. If one doesn't work, go on to the next.

If you call apple support these are the things they'll tell you to do.

SOURCE: apple ipod nano wont play the full song

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.

SOURCE: ipod nano 4th generation 8gb purple wont turn off

no there is nothing wrong. This is normal, after you turn it off by pressing the hold/pause button switch it into the locked position. When you take the lock off and press anything it will come back on exactly where you left it. Don't worry it is not faulty. it is supposed to do this.

I hope this helps

How to Copy DVDs (Video, background music) to iPod Nano, iPod shuffle

After Jobs unveiled the new iPod nano 5g at "Let's rock" this year, it was quite a big hit in 2009. The iPod nano has gone through five models, or generations, since its introduction. Nowadays, the fifth generation (current) supports video recording, a microphone for voice memos, a pedometer, and a slightly larger screen than that of the previous generation. As a excellent portable media player, more and more guys like to convert DVD to iPod nano-friendly format for watching DVD Movies on their iPod nano.

Contrasting with iPod nano, iPod shuffle seemed to be lonely this year and can't play video. But as the world smallest music player which can talk to you, its unique control functions and tough music playing ability shouldn't be ignore. At one time, there are much good background music in the Movie DVDs. So, many YA are hot in extracting audio from DVD for their iPod shuffle.

The purpose of this article is that show you how to convert(rip) DVDs to put DVDs(video, background music) to iPod nano, iPod shuffle. As the saying goes: "Sharp tools make good work", a suitable tool will be accomplished with the half effort. By my careful contrast using, I'm sure Daniusoft DVD to iPod Converter can finish converting DVD to iPod nano or grabbing music files from DVDs excellently.

Key-features of Daniusoft DVD to iPod converter:

1. Convert DVD to iPod video formats MP4 (MPEG-4), M4V, putting DVD on iPod and transfering DVD to iPod with excellent quality ;

I just bought the ipod nano 6th generation and it will not charge in the Bose docking system....my old one charges with no problem.....is there a fix for this? The nano plays fine it just wont charge

If it is a different model iPod then it is likely the Bose dock does not support the newer model. Quite often changes such as from iPhone 3 to iPhone 4, Bose had to release a new dock. The speakers and music will still always work, but the support will be limited for charging. Unfortunately you will not be able to fix this, other than upgrade the dock, or go back to your old ipod.

The new ipod nano

How old is it? if it's under warranty apple may fix it.
Simply, if you charge your iPod through you computer then the battery could be damaged. USB ports only put out 5 volts. If you have an AC charger that puts out 9.5 volts then consider charging it with that. Some AC adapters only put out 5 volts for the purpose matching the USB standard, but it's not good for the ipod.
