Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console

Can't get Guitar Hero or Guitar Hero 2 to work properly on my PS2 Slim

Hi, and thanks in advance. I have a PS2 slim and this question concerns my copies of Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero 2. When I went to play GH2 this evening, the start-up screen loaded at a normal speed but once the game itself began loading, the loading time for every game screen took anywhere between 5 and 10 times it's normal length to load! Moreover, when I did get to finally access songs, they sound completely choppy and are not in sync with the images appearing on screen. I thought maybe it could be the game, so I tried Guitar Hero (the first one) and it pretty much did the same thing, except it loaded to a certain part of the intro, where the video froze and the sound kept skipping like a wayward CD. At this point I thought something was up with my PS2, so I tried a couple other games, and they worked completely fine. No loading lag, no gameplay interference, and all the sounds etc. match up. I'm stumped as to why it's only affecting GH and GH2? I doubt this is a "known" issue but perhaps you can help me figure things out. I really don't know if this is a hardware or software issue anymore, so I took a chance and posted here. Thanks again for your time! RF81

Cant play new guitar hero Metallica.....need help please!

Ok, heres what you do.

(with the ps2 slim, this will work, I'm not sure with the fat but here you are)

Turn it on with the disc in it.
Turn the ps2 horizontly with the front facing you.
Whenever you hear a tick (only for fat) tap it against you knee a few times until you hear it spinning.

I first figured this out when I was frustrated. The ticks should be in groups of two. I just taped it on my knee, then I heard it spinning, and now I know I didn't waste my money on GH metallica and world tour.

I have a ps2 slim SCPH-79001, so I am not sure if it will work with the fat ps2s but:

Turn the ps2 horizontly with the ps2 front facing you. Then put it in, you should hear a few ticks (with the slim) and just tap it against you knee a few times until you jear it spinning.

Again, I'm not sure if this will work with the fat ps2, but I hope I helped.

Guitar Hero World Tour PS2

If you have old ps2(fat one) or some of the older slim models they are unable to read the new dual layer discs like GHWT. You can send your ps2 back to sony to reformat it to be able to read these new discs for about $50. There is currently a class action lawsuit against sony and activision for not being upfront about this problem.

No data for guitar hero III

I'm using the slim... maybe it is the type of memory card but guitar hero is the only game I've had a problem with. I just restarted the game and then beat it over again. After it said that there wasn't any data and I chose to make a new one, it said that there was data but it was corrupt. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but I haven't had any trouble since I started over the other one.
