Are you able to get sound from your system without the speakers?

Right click on My Computer - click Manage - Click on Device Manager

Does the audio listed in the window have a red X or yellow exclamation point?

Do u have any other speakers u can use ?
can u plug in the speakers into some thing els ( mp3 ipod )
to see if u can hear anything ?
if they work then its time to get new pc speakers
if they dont work then go to the control pannel and see the volume control pannel to see if the volume slider is to low or muted
i have had the same problem so a friend told me to look at the sound
bit and it worked fine as i had the volume lvl low

I can only hear the sound on some sites what could be the problem

That shouldn't happen, the only thing I could think of is that the cable that connects to the output of the computer is damage, sometimes they break on the inside.
Try using a headphone, and visit the sites that does have sound and also the one that does not have sound. If they all work, then it could be the cable. If you still have the same problem using the headphones, then uninstall the drivers and re-install them, or get another sound card. Best of luck.

I cant get my speakers to work. i dont if it is the software or the speakers its self. how would i be able to check if my default is set to the correct speakers?

Please go to run and enter "devmgmt.msc" you will get device manager. In device manager check any unknown device or yellow exclamation is there or not. If any one is there download the driver and install properly. If it is installed please go to run and enter "Control" that time you will get control panel. In that window you can see sound and audio device . Please check it is working or not. If it is installed check the connection and the speaker.

I have an HP Pavilion 6113US and the internal speaker has just stopped working. I can listen via the headphone jack fine. I have used System Restore and re-flashed the bios but the internal speaker still...

Hi. I would suggest updating the Audio drivers for your machine if this doesnt work, this is probably a hardware issue for the internal speakers because when you plugin a headphone it would work so its not with the motherboard or with the softwares for your machine. So consider replacing the built it speakers or try calling HP support for your issue if your machine is still under warranty and they would help you fix your issue without any charge. Hope this Helps

Some of the newer machines will not let usb speakers work unless they have their own power. Some require speakers to have a default power system.(110 V.) You may Require a install cd if your speaker are the more expensive speakers with surround sound. You need to check the specs on your speakers.

My speakers have stopped working.

Make sure that your sound is not muted. There should be a little speaker icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. If it has a red line through it, it may be muted. Double click it to bring up the properties and unmute it.

If it is not muted, I would suggest reinstalling the sound drivers. The steps to do this will differ based on the model of your computer. For the most part though, you can find this info on e-machines support site.

If that still does not work, I would guess it would be your sound card or onboard sound depending on your machine.

Good luck!
