How do i format the kingston datatraveler 310 256 gb to ntfs file system

Hello insert the drive in the usb port.

When you see the drive in the control panel, right click on it and choose format.

Select NTFS in the selection box, and mark quick format and click start.

This could take a while.

You just have to save ALL the previous saved files, before you format, because the files will be lost, when the the drive is formatet.

Good luck

Driver of kingston datatraveller g2 2 GB is lost so it is not able to open it data contents please tell solution on this problem

Connect it to a different computer.
Copy its files to the 'C:' drive.
Burn a copy of the files to a CD/DVD-writable disk.
Then "format" the device.
Copy the files back onto the device.
Use the CD/DVD disk on your computer.

Lost the autorun

when you first buy certain flash drives they come with the auto run program if you format it then you take that batch file out of it,,, theres nothing you can do about that but you can "map" it or manually start it by right clicking my computer then clicking manage then click on disk management you should see it there then if you right click your device you can change the drive letter to whatever you choose i recommend i: or h: then you can exit all of that and then go into my computer and you will see it there!

I had the same problem with one of my USB drives, after some testing I came to the conclusion that the drive was failing and I replaced it. If yours is under 1 year old it should be still under warranty.

I own a Data traveler Kingston DT101 8GB. My files are broken in folder FOUND.000. I also tried to scan it with anti virus and error checking but still nothing happened. Files are named: FILE0001.CHK...

Those files are nothing but lost clusters recovered. If the data is very important for you, there is a chance to get it recovered, however, it won't be free. You can contact any local vendor or try the following link.

18 MB from 2 GB...

i would recommend using a utility that performs a low level format of the flash drive... note that all data is lost on it. You may just have hidden files on it and your windows settings dont allow you to view hidden and system files...

let me know if you want to check for hidden files first or want a link to download a low level flash drive formatter....
