Re: TO CHANGE THE BOOT SEQUENCE FROM HARD DISK TO CD
With cd in drive
constantly press F7 while restarting then highlight for cd or cd/dvd option then enter
when a black page comes up to boot from cd press enter
let me know if this helped
there is another way but this way is easiest

You will need to install Windows. If you have an install disk, insert the disk into the optical drive and restart the computer. Go into BIOS and select "Boot from CD/DVD". Follow the install instructions on screen.
if you have any discs in the dvd remove them... it should boot to the hard drive when it doesn't find anything in the dvd. if you need to install an operating system put that disc in the dvd and boot from it. during the installation it will start to run off the hard drive. when you are done installing remove the installation disc.
Remove harddrive make sure it is set to master. while hard drive is out boot up computer it will boot to the motherboard. Find the boot menu and set your cd drive as the first device. Save and shut down the computer. Install your hard drive now boot up and as soon as you can insert disk.
check if the cable from the cd rom connected to your ibm pc if its ok , also check the master, slave configuration pins into the back of your cdrom. make sure that theres no conflict between the hard disk and the cdrom. Your cd rom may probably cannot be detected. make sure that it is working first. then install the hard disk. The hard disk must be in primary master and the cd rom must be in primary slave. then try booting it to your cd rom. also, try checking if your windows xp setup disk is bootable, it means that it can boot from cd rom. PM me if you have other experiences after doing what i adviced. Thank You.. heres my email. email@example.com
your bios maybe infected with a virus. first try removing the cmos battery in your ibm machine for 1 minute and put it back. next, make sure that the hard disk is working and is not corrupted try making a new partition in a different pc. Paste all the files from the windows xp installer to your newly made partition. next put the hard disk into your ibm pc. and wait till it boots into your hard drive and the setup will begin. make another partition for your windows xp system and install it to that directory. if you cannot boot into your hard disk, there may be a problem with your ide cables. try checking the cables from your ibm pc connected to your hard disk.pm me if you still have problems and questions.. heres my email firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you
