if i have a viras what can i do to get rid of it? will erasing all programs and starting over work?

You should not have to erase all of your programs,, not without first trying to kill the virus,,you can do what is called an online scan,,just go to:http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/solutions/activescan/
use the button on the left,and do a online scan,,,do not shut the computer down until it is finished,,if you are running on batteries,,,please plug your laptop in at this point,,it may take a half hour or so..so copy the link i have sent you.
