Try changing the needle--make sure it's the correct one for the fabric
being sewed
rethread the machine top and bobbin
turn the bobbin the opposite direction
if the suggestions don't help then the machine needs to be serviced

Check your tension disks, with your presser foot up, and the tension dial on zero. Sometimes a piece of cotton breaks off between the tension disks and then prevents the disks to work properly. Also make sure when you thread the machine, the thread does go through the disks and over the take up lever. After you threaded the machine, before putting the thread through the eye of the needle, lower the presser foot and while pulling on the thread with your left hand, increase the tension with your right hand. Do it slowly and you should feel in difference in tension. If this is the case, your machine should work fine. Also use a ball-point needle on t shirt material. Good luck!

I just had this problem, too - if you have the manual, check out page 15. If you have removed the throat plate, you need to make sure that the position finger on the bobbin case base enters a notch on the underside of the throat plate. Fixed my problem right away.

Singer futura quartet embroidery machine's bobbin area is tangling up the top thread. the top thread never breaks it just clogs up in the bobbin compartment can you help?

Be sure that when you thread the top thread, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot. This allows the thread to seat firmly in the tension disk. Sounds like what you are experiencing is called bird nesting or thread nesting.

How do I fix my singer.

the problem most likely is thread tension possibly on the upper thread
It is not pulling the thread up from the bottom allowing the bottom thread to become tangled

The macine said it was an E6 error thread jam which I completely cleaned the bobbin area (not much there anyway) but I still cannot get it to not jam the thread on the botom. I have changed needles also.

Hello

This code tells you that the motor locked up because the thread is tangled. Untangle the thread, make sure the machine is threaded properly and that the proper tension is set before continuing.

It could be that the bobbin is being put in upside down check to make sure that you do not need a bobbin with a magnet on one side. also make sure there is no thread tangled inside the bobbin housing it will cause the timing of the machine to be off and cause issues with your needle picking up the bobbin and thus cause a mess inside you bobbin housing

How do i put threed into the bobbin and keep it from not getting tangled?

Is it getting tangled while you're spooling the bobbin on the top right corner of the Singer 1507 machine? If this is the case, you have to pull the thread through the top tiny hole in the bobbin, and hold on to the thread end. Then click the bobbin to the right to lock it in place, power up your machine. Keep holding the thread as you begin spooling the bobbin. Let go of the thread once the bobbin starts to spin a few rounds and the thread should not get tangled.

The bobbin in my 401A jamsafter sewing only a few inches leaving a knotted "mess" on the fabric . How can I repair this?

Something is not threaded right on the top, or the thread is tangled. Take the thread completely out and rethread. Also, make sure that no thread is caught in the bobbin area, if necessary take bobbin casing out and clean with a brush. Always turn the handwheel towards you, never away from you because it can mess up the timing, Also google Singer 401a there is a great blog on this machine

On my Singer Scholastic, the thread jams in the bobbin area

It sounds like it is not threaded properly through the tension disc. Try rethreading and make sure the presser foot lever is in the up position. If it continues, once threaded and with the presser foot down, pull on the thread through the needle. If it has resistance, it is threaded properly. If it pulls easily then there is a problem in the tension area. Check to see if there are peices of thread broke off in between the tension disc.

Jammed

ROLL THE MANUAL LEVER BACK AND FORTH WITH CONTROLLED FORCE till the needle comes out! the jamming is caused by threads tangled inside the bobbin area. rolled it with a controlled force back and forth. when the needle comes out flip your machine to where you could open the bottom part and remove/clean the threads tangled on the bobbin!
place some OIL.
