Squealing when not watching HD channel

TV squeals on any channel that is not HD. Squeal is not coming from the speakers, it still does it when muted. It squeals on any of the a/v inputs except the component and the only way it doesn't squeal is if i'm watching a HD channel.

WHAT IS CAUSING THIS SQUEALING NOISE IN MY CAR?

Sounds like a dragging brake pad. There is an adhesive that can be applied between the calipers and the pads. Or it may be time for a rear end brake change.

When the tv is turned on, it has a piercing squeal sound. We need to mute it to watch. It also comes on with lines through the picture. Sometimes we can't see the picture at all.

If the squeal is heard on all av inputs and normal channels it would suggest a failure of the internal audio amplifier requiring a visit from a techie, try unpuging scarts etc to try and isolate the fault

High piercing squeal coming from a component on circuit board

if it is squealing most likely the horizontal output transistor is shorted and possibly the flyback transformer caused it to short.

Squealing sound

hi dianne... i've had that happent 2 me lots of times. it's quite easy to sort out actually . try this: double click on the speaker or sound icon (bottom right corner next to the time display).tick the block for Mic/Line in to mute the microphone on your laptop. this procedure will sort the squeal out. just remember though that if u use the mic on the laptop u should reverse the procedure.
good luck..
