this may sound weird to you but turn off the laptop, remove the bezel, screws and the keyboard. start the computer until you get a keyboard error. enter the bios and restart with f10 and enter. when it restarts, shut off the laptop again. reinstall the keyboard. restart the computer and try to use the locked keys. i doubt the usb wireless caused this. if the keys are still stuck, then the keybaord is faulty. spill liquid on it?

Cordless Keybaord - Some keys not functioning

Could be interference from a wireless device using the same frequency. Locate any other wireless keyboard/mice from the vacinity and try it again. Also, push the connect button on the bottom of the keyboard and see if that helps. Also make sure the base station of the keyboard is close enough to the keyboard/mouse.

My wirelesskeyboard is not being read.. what can i do

Hi,

You may try these:

1. Try plugging and unplugging the usb adapter a few times in another usb port. It must be USB 2.0 slot.

2. Be sure that the keyboard's battery is new and placed in the correct position.

3. If there is a button on the wireless USB connector you may press that to make connection (sync) and start working. (In some models there is) After trying something to solve the problem, do not forget to sync the keyboard and USB device before testing.

4. Try to make enable the option "USB keyboard support" and "USB mouse support" from the BIOS (But BIOS must have support capability to do that).

5. If you have driver CD for your keyboard please install its driver. There may be a driver conflict in your operating system. If any, you may see and fix that from the control panel, Device manager section. The driver should be compatible to your operating system.
Try to uninstall the keyboard's software, restart your computer and reinstall the software then restart computer again.

Waiting your comments.

My shift key will not work for all letters, forcing me to use caps lock by pressing it before typing the letter and immediately after typing the letter. any suggestions?

This can be either a bad keyboard or a bad system board. There's no way to tell without swapping out the keyboard. Laptop keyboards aren't hard to replace and cost about $50-60. If that does not resolve the problem, learn to live with it because a replacing the system board generally isn't worth the cost unless you have it covered under warranty.

Dell Inspiron 1525 keyboard stop working - how can i fix it?

Hi,
Try in safe mode:
Switch on the laptop and start tapping 'F8' key multiple times (especially when you get the dell logo.Locate safe mode and hit enter (by using the down/up error key).Open a notepad and check all the keybaord keys one by one and confirm if it works.
Test keyboard:
Switch off the laptop (if it is already switched on). Press "Fn" and power key together, this will launch a test (psa), wait for a message "where the color bars displayed",press 'Y' to continue the test. follow onscreen instructions till you rach a window with four options,(express test, symptop test, custom tes,,,,,), click on custom test and select keyboard, click on run test.....and confirm if keybaord works while running the test.

Regards,
Musheer.
