Question about D-Link DHP-W306AV PowerLine AV Wireless N Extender
Hi, I have the wireless DHP-W306AV and wired unit. I had a blackout and ever since the two units do not communicate. I cannot also connect directly using my PC to the wireless unit via either http://dlinkap or 192.168.0.50. I have tried everything, including resetting both the units, resetting my router and changing sockets etc but cant seem to find the issue. I have the wireless unit in my room and wired attached to the router in a separate room. I tried using the CD software to install the wireless unit again after resetting to factory default and it does everything except in the final stage when it tries to establish connection with other unit it says the Powerline LED failed and asks to try again. Can anyone please post direction on how to solve this issue.

Your ISP has specific requirements for connecting a router to their equipment. For some the default router settings connect successfully. Some Telcos require PPPoE logins to access the network, you may either be given a static IP address or be required to accept a dynamic IP address. You need to determine from your ISP often from a help website, a chat with a technician or phone support what those requirements are. Another possibility is failure to include DNS addresses either in the router or in the network adapter's IP configuration.

Please try to access the router's configuration page by accessing 192.168.0.1 using a computer that is wired on the router.

You should reset the unit back to factory and also install the latest firmware , if it not already updated previously. This unit was discontinued by the manufacturer back in 2004.

check your DCHP connection on your router, you must enable it in-order to relay the signal from your router to your laptop.
