DHP-W306AV Powerline LED issue

Hi, I have the wireless DHP-W306AV and wired unit. I had a blackout and ever since the two units do not communicate. I cannot also connect directly using my PC to the wireless unit via either http://dlinkap or 192.168.0.50. I have tried everything, including resetting both the units, resetting my router and changing sockets etc but cant seem to find the issue. I have the wireless unit in my room and wired attached to the router in a separate room. I tried using the CD software to install the wireless unit again after resetting to factory default and it does everything except in the final stage when it tries to establish connection with other unit it says the Powerline LED failed and asks to try again. Can anyone please post direction on how to solve this issue.

Your ISP has specific requirements for connecting a router to their equipment. For some the default router settings connect successfully. Some Telcos require PPPoE logins to access the network, you may either be given a static IP address or be required to accept a dynamic IP address. You need to determine from your ISP often from a help website, a chat with a technician or phone support what those requirements are. Another possibility is failure to include DNS addresses either in the router or in the network adapter's IP configuration.

You should reset the unit back to factory and also install the latest firmware , if it not already updated previously. This unit was discontinued by the manufacturer back in 2004.

check your DCHP connection on your router, you must enable it in-order to relay the signal from your router to your laptop.

Maybe it will work in 32 bit but not in 64.
I guees you have to buy a new kit compatible with windows 7.

check the IP address for the device by reading the manual and setup same range of IP in your computer and then browser the device IP in you browser. u will get username /password and do the rest by following the screens.

This is a communication issue between the indoor and outdoor units.

This fault can be caused a issue with the interconnecting wiring such as an induced voltage on the Communication cable or even if a Drain Pump has been installed incorrectly external to the Daikin Unit.

Ensure that the Outdoor unit has power to it and that the Main PCB has a Green Flashing (HAP) LED on it to show that it is powered up.

I am connected to my new dlink DHP-W306AV via ethernet cable on MacOSX Lion and I have internet access, but I cannot acces the router at 192.168.0.50 ... It just says "Server is not responding" ...


You should reset the unit back to factory and also install the latest firmware , if it not already updated previously. This unit was discontinued by the manufacturer back in 2004.

I'm using a D-Link DHP 306 AV PLC kit and I can't reach internet through a Zyxel 660HW-61 router althoug I can do it if I plug directly my PC to the reouter, and the two devices can see each other...


Verify that your laptop can connect to the D-Link. Then on the laptop, in the search window enter CMD. In that window enter " ping 8.8.8.8" If you get a response - actually 5, then your likely issue on the D-Link is DHCP settings. Enter "close" to close the black CMD screen.
A response proves that you have Internet access but only to numeric addresses. Use the supplied disk or instruction manual to log into the D-Link and update the settings. If you get no response, go through the full setup procedure on the D-Link.

I would suggest downloading and updating the firmware for the device(s). Also, because it is expanding the wireless reach of your router via electrical wiring, any interference may inhibit the correct functioning of the system. I would suggest you try connecting to your wireless without the powerlines active to ensure it is not a faulty router or wireless card. If it still does not work with the powerlines deactivated, you may need to look into getting a new router or wireless adapter.

Try reset the device and start a new configuration.It seems that your networwork have issues between the router and the powerlines.All need to be in the same network as per router configuration.Connect one adapter to your router and plug it into an available electrical outlet. Plug the second adpter into an available wall outlet and connect the other end to any device with an available Ethernet port such as a gaming console, set-top box, or computer.

pd: OS to use the adapters; Windows 2000, XP or Vista.

This can occur when the wireless adapter in the computer has trouble connecting to the wireless router. It may not get an IP address from the router or the wireless adapter encryption setting didn't get an the encryption authentication from the router.
In this case right click on the wireless adapter on the Task bar and click Repair. This will make the router re-issue an IP address and authenticate the adapter's encryption setting.
