Question about Sansui VRDVD4001 DVD Player/VCR

2 Answers

I have reviewed all the answers posted here and none have helped. The door was opening and closing fine. I inserted a DVD (a product DVD) and door became stuck. Changed batteries in remote--did not work. Used the button directly on the unit, but it still would not open. Unit purchased Dec. 2007 and rarely used. HELP

Hi.  The DVD drive uses plastic gears and mechanisms and from time to time, these gears or mechanisms can get stuck.  You will need to open the unit and get to the DVD drive.  I am sure you will be able to take the DVD movie out.  You need to inspect the mecanism to make sure everything is moving smoothly.  Also, there is a belt that a motor used to open and close the DVD tray, so make sure there is a black rubber band looking belt attached and not broken.

There are two usual ways. Unplug the unit before proceeding.
1. There should be a small round hole along the bottom below the tray. You can push an unbent paper clip in it, and it should disengage the clamper and the drawer a little bit, which you can the slowly pull the drawer out the rest of the way.

2. Similar, you pull the flap down, and you will see a gear. You can manually turn that gear, which will do the same as the pin above.

Sony Handycam camcorder model DCR-DVD105 door not stay closed

Something not latching is usually spring related. If you feel like taking it apart you can probably find out what is keeping it from latching.

RCA RTD315 Theater System The DVD Player recently

My identical system has exactly the same problem as the one described by dipaola, above. When I insert a DVD, the DVD carriage pops back open after a few seconds. In fact, mine won't stay closed even without a DVD in it, as long as the system is set to play a DVD. I'd like an answer to the big Q - Is there anything I can do about this, or should I just find another DVD player to hook into the system?

I have the DZ-GX5020A DVD Cam....the disc eject door will not open.....I can hear it clicking trying to open, but no luck... everthing else works fine.......can you help me?

None of those options worked for me. I had to remove the single screw on top of the camera. Then slide the silver top panel forward to remove it. Then remove the dark panel where the screw was removed. Then you should see a small metal piece very close to the DVD door opening that is holding it closed. Slowly nudge it forward to unlatch the door. This allowed me to open the door to remove the DVD. Unfortunately I still have to do this every time to get the door open. I may try some lubricant on the metal to prevent sticking.

Dvd slider door won't close.

Hi, is it fully open, or just partially open?
Is it nearly shut but just jammed? If so have you tried inserting a flat peice of plastic and pulling the draw open. You could do this with no power to the dvd player, It might be that you haven't inserted the disc properly and it is wedged in.

Try all this and see how you get on.

We have a Audiovox KLV3913 under cabinet tv/dvd combo that has a DVD stuck in it. Push the open/close button & "Open" shows on screen but door never comes open. No longer have manual & couldn't...

There has to be a small hole at the front of the door where u will be able to insert a paper clip and press then dvd shud eject. If not open door with a paper clip and manualy pull the drawer outwards, though be careful and do it slowly thus not damaging the gears of the ejection system. hope it helps. regards.viv

HP DVD 635 - auto tray open

no ghosts, you either have something jammed up inside of the drive which is keeping the door from closing properly all the way or the door itself is defective.

Either way you would be better off replacing the drive with a new dvd-rw cause the drive would be up to date and the problem with the opening door would go away.
