It could be that the machine isn't filling properly with water- which could be a faulty or clogged water inlet valve. I'm not quite familiar with Inglis, but if you still have the manual, check and see if there is a way to adjust the amount of time the water valve stays open at the beginning of the cycle.

Or just add a liter or so of water at the beginning of a cycle and see if that helps- but make sure you add it after you hear the soap dispenser open- the beginning of most wash cycles is a quick rinse cycle, so any water you add will only be in there for a couple minutes before the machine drains and attempts to refill.

You are doing a splendid job of troubleshooting! As you began to speak of removing the inside door panel to get to the control panel I said"yes", that's the next step...perfect! So do it and chech out the panel board and its button box. One thing is to mke sure all the electrical contacts in the box are clean. Also using CRC or WD40 spray, spray the outside of each button and its associated spring to get nice free movement. See if there are any fuses in the panel as well that may have been blown by stuck buttons...Use the multimeter on Ohms to check the fuses! Great job so far...finish the job a hero!

inglis is a whirlpool brand, and your within their 1 year coverage, you might contact them and see if they will send out a tech. doesnt solve your problem, but it sounds like a motor problem to me.

Parts for old inglis dryer

http://www.myapplianceparts.com/index.asp

These people can find a lot of hard to find parts. I know Inglis is owned by Whirlpool now, but dont know the age of yours, or how long ago this happened. Door switches were pretty much the same, so it shouldnt be to hard to find what you need. Let me know if you need any further help. Jim
