Question about KitchenAid KSSC36QMS Side by Side Refrigerator

Open Question

Light keeps going off (refrigerator keeps going off?)

Light goes off, I trip the fuse, it goes back on. An hour later, same problem. Fuse doesn't look like it's "off" - I manually trip it to get the light back on.

SOURCE: The refrigerator "over temperature" alarm

Look at the bottom hinge and see if the door closing cam is worn or broken. These are cheap inexpensive plastic cams that go over the hinge and this helps the door close. Once the door gets closed the seal takes over and seals itself. If either one of these is not functioning correctly then that would allow hot air to get in and cause an over temp issue. Also make sure you don't have any food items blocking the air vents from the freezer to the fridge, this is how the fridge cools itslef, it uses the air from the freezer through a series of vents and fans.

Just had a power failure, power was off for about 12 hours. My Fisher & Paykel refridgerator now won't work, no lights inside, nor any noises when the power is turned back on. Any ideas?

You are going to have to measure the line voltage to the refrigerator (@ the plugin). Seems to me you don't have power still if the light isn't even working.

Blowing brake light fuse

you might want in this case try a higher rating fuse, example is if the fuse is 15 amp rase it to a 25 amp fuse, try not to go over 40 amp if possible,if that still blows it is more than likley a shorted switch or a bad relay causing the overload or short. after the fuse change an still a problem chech the relay for the break lights next, these are located in the engine compartment and on some models in the trunk, good luck,Gary

take a test bulb or light, remove the positive cable on battery and connect to light then connect the other line of test bulb to +post of the battery, does the light on bright, remove and install fuses one by one until you find out the fuse that makes the light slowly go off, until its blinksslowly, if this happens this fuse goes to specified load or component is the prolem

Tail light fuse keeps blowing. I have traced the wiring back to the tail lights and it all seems fine. I have taken out the turn signal lights and the light switch, put in to the first position for parking...

Are the bulbs out of the sockets and the fuse blows?
Take bulbs out and check again
Place one back at a time if fuse was OK with bulbs out to locate bad bulb.
Do this........if still needed with bulbs out and fuse blowing.
Put a circuit breaker in to replace the fuse of the same amperage.
It will trip off then back on.
Use a standard cheap magnetic along lighting wiring........the wire with current will cause the needle to jump as circuit breaker trips on and off.
Follow path of current to problem.....the compass will stop moving once past the shorted /grounded wire/connection.

Something is zapping the battery in 1990 Ford Taurus

You have an electrical drain in the vehicle somewhere. The first place I would check is the dome lights, if they are off you will need to start eliminating each individual circuit. To do this you will need to get a 12 volt test light. remove the positive battery cable and connect this test light (one end to the cable and the other to the battery the test light will light up at this point) this is completing the battery circuit, next go to the fuse panel and have someone watch the test light, the first fuse you will need to remove is the dome light fuse. If you remove this fuse and the light goes out then you have a constant drain in the dome light circuit which could be a blown bulb or bad door switch. If the light stays on then leave this fuse out (due to the doors being open)and continue 1 by 1 removing fuses until the test light goes out, keep in mind if the light doesn't go out go ahead and reinsert the fuse to eliminate any confusion on where they go. Once you find the circuit that has the problem then we can diagnose what part may have failed to find your drain but more than likely it will go out with the dome light fuse removed. The door switches on these cars had some issues.

Instrument panel dials all pegged to zero or max

ok let me help you get started
this isnt going to be easy we need to do a bunch of testing.
you will need a 12 volt test light.
remove the negitive battery cable and connect one side of your test light to the battery negitive and the other side to the battery cable . and with the key off.. so now if you have a short some where the light should be lit. now what we have to do is start to pull fuses untill the light goes out. and when you find the fuse that is causing your short and drain your battery . then we have to look into the section of the wiring and components.
let me know what you find
later paul

House has old wiring, going to be knocked down in 2yrs,1 part of lighting circirt keeps blowing fuse and knocking the trip off, every time I put trip on,in 20seconds it goes of again?

This would sound like an overload on the circuit. If it were a direct short the breaker would trip immediately. As an example if you had two units such as a refrigerator and a freezer on the circuit in question, both motors starting at the same time could draw enough current to trip the breaker on start up.
