Yes you do need drivers to get the computer to recognize the phone.
go to and download the software for your computer.
also dowload the device software.
just to have it
install the blackberry desktop manager and drivers
you should get hooked up then

Hi mate i have blackberry 7290 its problem is whe i power onthe phone its giving following error "DEVICE ERROR:365 RESET" then i try to flash the phone but soft ware giving this message UNABLE TO...

Try uninstalling the Blackberry Software Suite and the Blackberry drivers from your computer from the device manager. Power off the Blackberry, then connect it to the USB cable to see if it begins to charge. Look for the device to show up on Windows. If it does not show up, try booting the Blackberry device back up. If you're still not seeing anything (and especially if the phone isn't even charging), it could possibly be a hardware issue.

How can I conect it to my Pc

Hi! It's preety easy. All you need is a usb-cable. It's a cable that has usb port on the one side, and your phone's jack on the other. Just plug it in, and you'r all set. If you didn't get that cable whith phone, you can buy it for 4-8 $ at your local computer store! Remember to bring your phone with you, so that they give you the right cable.

insert the disc that comes with the phone and run it. this should install all necessary drivers for you but if you dont have it, you can go online and search for the drivers.

Will not charge

Are you using the AC Adapter, or USB sync cable to computer to charge? If using your computer to charge, you will need to have USB Driver for your BlackBerry Model installed. Download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from:

Could also be that your USB Port on your BB is damaged. You can use an external Battery Charger to charge your Battery
