Engine manage light came on my lexus is200 and engine sounded like it was miss firing, then the trc off light was repeatedly flashing is the a orob with the brain

Get yourself an On board display scanner from ebay about 20GBP.

read the instructions. Plug in to the under dash socket and note the fault code. Look up the code and then see if you can fix the problem. If you can't, clear the engine management light [the next time you start it the light will come on again] and take it to a garage Don't tell them what you know, see if they feed you with a lot of rubbish and try to rip ou off.

Engine maintainance light on

do you mean the service light or the mil (engine management light? ) you can get a obd2 code reader if its the mil light but be sure to get one that is for VAG codes, if its a vw or one the reads eobd and *** codes for lexus (ebay from £23 )
if its a service light you need not worry too much but you can also get the service reset tool on line
