SOURCE: Tension settings juki mo-644d

-If the machine is threaded correctly and the thread is flossed into the tension discs,
-if the thread is high quality and not cheap thred
the top tensions should be at 5-6 and the looper tensions should be at 4-5
Be sure it is threaded correctly (follow the threading map on the inside of the front cover of machine
Also be sure you are using a size 14 or size 90 standard Schmetz needle do not use Klasse needles
as these are to short and affecdt the timing.

Hi I just purchased a used Juki DDL-555. 1) It will not catch the bobbin thread. 2) it will not sew forward and feed the fabric along (it sews in reverse just fine). Can someone please help?

the material movement is set by the forward/ reverse knob or lever
not picking up the thread can be needle thread tension too loose
it can be needle hook timing

Have a juki tension top and bottom loose, top tension mechanism tight what do i do?

Remove the thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and re-thread from the beginning. Verify that the thread follows the correct path. Set the upper tension to the midway point between high & low number.

Re-install the bobbin (make sure it turns the correct direction in the bobbin case). Thread the bobbin thread through the bobbin tension.

Test your machine.

How do you determine if the sub tension knob is too loose on my Juki TL2010Q? My stitches are not uniform and some have a slight zig zag.

Generally I believe that the sub tension regulates the length of the tail left after the machine cuts. Rather than adjust the sub tension, I would 'slightly' tighten the screw on the bobbin case and see if that solves the problem. If you were not having the problem before, there may be lint or tiny piece of fuzz under the spring on the bobbin case or a piece of thread hung up in your upper tension. Good Luck!

My juki sewing machine is not threading right it cuts the understich as it goes thru and leaves a big pile of thread on the bottom when back stitching what's wrong with it?

it appears the basically the needle thread tension is not set right
try increasing the tension of that thread
next check the needle /hook timing

I would like instructions on how to set different stitch lengths on my Juki 1541-S.

Puckering is typically NOT a tension problem. But rather a bad needle or not the right needle for the project and thread. Sometimes it's uneven feed but since your 1541 is a walking foot you might have to get the feed timed. I know little about that.

I would first look at the recommended needle thread combo for the fabric. Then the presser foot tension.

Good luck.

If you have loops on the bottom of the seam it's your top tension giving you problems.

My juki ddl 8700 has a tension problem. The tension post assembly is loose.

theres a set screw to the right of the tension device. maybe its loose. the screw is part of the machine body. don't look for it on the tension device. u have to get your head down in the to see it.

I bought a second hand Juki industrial machine , model DDL 5550-7, but struggle to get the tension of the stitches right. where do you set the lower stitches tension

upper tension sets the lower thread tension (upper thread is what you see on the underside of the fabric). Bobbin tension is for the thread you see on the top of the fabric

Is your top tension set tight? If not, it may be a problem with the tension spring and if it is a new machine will be covered under warranty. It may also be that the bottom tension is set too tight. Not a major problem
