A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power
adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop,
remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop &
see if it works. If the laptop works directly from the power adapter
with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case
we can suspect that the battery is defective.
Latitudes sometimes have a problem with RAM. Try these things to get it to boot...
1. Remove the RAM modules, clean the contacts with a pencil eraser, reseat modules and test.
2. If two modules, remove one and test. Place same module in second slot and test.
hi there, you can try this unplug the powercord from the pc and remove the battery and than press the power key than replace the battery adn plug in the power cord and let it charge for a hour or so and than try it again. if it boots good if not try to press the del key right after you turn on the unit and check the settings of bios to see what they are set at and try to set it to default or failsafe than save on exit and reboot and see what that does
The 3 LED's (Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock) are used by Dell to diagnose no-post issues such as yours. The only error code close to yours is [Num Lock ON, Caps Lock FLASHING, Scroll Lock ON]. This indicates a a memory error. Try reseating the memory modules. If you have 2 memory modules, insert one at a time to determine the faulty module.

yes it can, plug a external monitor in the video port if you get video the rest of you computer is good the problem is the display. Now you might want to speak to a pro for repairs as it could be simply unplugging the conector from the motherboard or replacing the inverter.Last but not least you can try this for yourself remove the power battery and memory, press and hold the power button for twenty seconds.Reinstall them again and try again.
if its the battery with a press button that lights up 5 green lights.. if u hold it for about 6 seconds it should light up all or some in a row like 000.. ( depends on charge it has) after 6 seconds none should flash , they should turn off . if any do flash or led green are missing in between its likely a bad battery.
