S80-40ARP7701UL kitchen hood-light switch doesn't work
When i tried to turn the light off, i noticed the light switch was loose and quickly realized it had broken. I had to manually unscrew the bulbs to turn the light off. Is there a was to replace this switch, bec. otherwise everything else works perfectly fine.

Hi Anonymous, always check fuses and bulbs first, you could have a faulty turn signal module or a bad turn signal button/switch, remove it from the switch housing and check for continuity, check your wiring and connections from the turn signal switch to the turn signal module with a testlite. Make sure all wires are not worn or pinched and connector pins are not corroded, broken, or loose. do you have remote start on that truck? if you do, it has a hood safety switch that will keep it from starting if hood is open. That hood switch is quite easily identifyable. Look for it on the drivers side, either close to the firewall or right at the front of the fuse box.itsa worth taking a look
To replace the light bulb:
1. Remove the right filter and turn off the main power
2. Gently push the suction cup on the light replacement
tool A (provided with you range hood)
onto the lens of the light bulb B .
3. Turn the tool counter-clockwise until the bulb
4. Remove the tool from the bulb and put it on the
lens of the replacement bulb.
5. Screw the new bulb into the light fixture clockwise
until it is tight. Turn on power at the fuse or junction
box. Turn on the main power switch and touch
the light key to make sure it is working.
6. Replace the filter. You can download the manual here.
steve...first, is the light working? If not, you may not have power. If so, turn off all power to the unit at the breaker. Remove the filter and see if the blower turns easily by hand. Yes...switch could be bad...no...motor bad.
Open up unit and using test light from the hardware store and motor plug disconnected...turn on fan and probe the motor feed wire for power. It may be the switch that's bad. This should tell you.
kerry, does it make any difference if you hold that button or not? If so, the switch set could be bad. Any odd noise from the motor? The motor might be bad. Power off. Then, remove the filter and try to turn the motor by hand. If it turns hard, it's the motor. Easy, then replace the switch. Check the electrical connections to the unit. There should be a box somewhere inside the housing. It is possible that wires have come loose. Again, do this part with the power off.
