  1. Did you ping to test the computers own basic network setup?
  2. Did you do a yum update and the network driver was updated?
  3. Did you check service network status?
  4. You could also update to at least 5.7 for better network support.
  5. It seldom happens, but network cards do die. This usually happens out of the blue with no forewarning. The only way to tell is to put the card into another computer and/or to replace the existing card. Good thing is, they are really not expensive.
Hope this helps, otherwise let me know.

I have rj11 router bur i have rj45 internet cable . how to configure???

First of all a RJ11 plug is used for a phone line. That router has 4 RJ45 ports as well & which you will use. So forget about the RJ11 plug.

There will be a special port (RJ45) were your modem will plug into. It should be clearly marked. Then use the RJ45 cord connected to you computer to your router.

Use the CD will the router to set up.

Advance users goto your web browser & in the address bar type:

The default username and password are both admin in lowercase

A setup screen will load.

P.S For the wireless security use WPA 2 Personal

If i dont have the cd to set my router up what do i do

remove the rj45 cable c2bda4d.jpgof your router then reconnect to the lan port found at the back of your PC. then you will have internet connection. After that download the latest router driver found at the manufacturers website. After that you may now return the rj45 cable to your router. Happy surfing!!

Try to update the firmware of the router first and hard reset it.

To hard reset it, press the reset button at the back of the rouetr for 30 secs then unplug the power for 30 secs and then plug it back in. Check if that fixes it.

Belkin mimo installation

what you should have purchased was a modem/router and not a seperate router to connect to your modem, but the modem should connect to the cable/adsl port (wan) using the initial RJ45 lan cable, and then a lan cable from one of the 4 ports on the rear to each pc.

Wireless G Router

you should have the cable modem connected to your routers WAN port, using the lan connector cable (RJ45 plug), then using another lan cable from the router number 1 port to your pc's network lan card, making sure the uplink button is not pressed in as this is if you wish to use more than one router on your network. Go to control panel, network connections, right click on your network card>properties, then click the TCP/IP line and again click properties, then select 'obtain ip address automatically'. go to your web browser then type in which should take you into the router settings and look for DHCP clients and make sure DHCP is enabled and save settings. Restart the pc and it should now connect.

Router connection

the cable modem lead should plug into the internet socket, then a lead rj45 should come from any of the other 4 ports to your lan network card in the back of your pc and thats it, all the settings will be the same as before.
