Focus

if the distance between lenses is even a hair's width off then images will be blurred. It may be that either the frame has been damaged and moved the internet components. If it is new or under warranty I would suggest returning it. Telescopes are very delicate instruments.

This is assuming your outer lenses have been cleaned properly and any focusing knobs have been used to attempt in focusing the device. Try looking on the manufacturer's website or calling them for a troubleshooting guide or frequently asked questions. It may give you a fast answer.

We don't know how to operate the telescope! instructions only covered assembly! how to operate?

HI mthrede,

What you need to do after the assembly is to get both the telescope and the small sighting scope Calibrated so that they are both looking at the same object.

Start in the daylight and use the main telescope to scan your local landscape. What you are looking for is the likes of the tops of telephone poles, radio towers, or such to lock on to. You may need to use that focus knob down by the eye piece to clear your view. After this is done, adjust the little sighting scope to where it is looking at that same object. You are now ready for some night time viewing.

We have just setup the telescope but unable to focus on anything

The first step would be to start in the daylight and use the main telescope to scan your local landscape. Perhaps you have some objects like distant telephone poles that you can lock on to. After this, adjust the little spotting scope on the side of the main telescope body so that it is looking in the very same place. You are now setup for some night time viewing.

Note: Objects that you view in your local landscape are probably going to appear as being upside down. This is normal.

Everything in telescope is backwards

These are normal for an astronomical telescope. You can get erector prisms to fix it for terrestrial use - but astronomers just live with it.

My son got a telescope and we are unable to focus on anything.

Use the lowest magnification eyepiece which is the one with the largest number on it--- DO NOT use the barlow which will DOUBLE the magnification!

Go outside and focus on a distant object (during the daytime) and practice focusing the telescope. Move the focus know slowly in and out until you get a sharp image.
