Shark supersteamer wont turn off

My shark supersteam was clogged and an answer on FixYa said to open it up and gently tap the brass button, I did that and some little gunk came out to the nozzle, now it steams but the on/off button will not turn it on or off. It just stays on. Can you help?

SOURCE: my shark portable steam pocket is not producing steam. What is the problem?

It sounds like the heating element is not working. I can't offer you much more, but I would check that as much as you can.

Shark navigator lift away turns on but no suction

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

It seems that there may be something blocking the airway. To fix this, please make sure to unplugged the unit from the power before performing this.

There are two places where you can check for a blockage: the dust cup air duct and the intake opening behind the brush roll. To check for a blockage in the dust cup air duct stand the vacuum upright and remove the dust cup. Now you can disconnect the super stretch hose and check for clogs in the air duct behind the dust cup. If that is not the case, to check for a clog near the roller brush lay the vacuum down. Next check the opening behind the brush roll for clogs. If there is debris, clean the opening with scissors, carefully cutting away any debris.

If the dust cup is too full, there is no space for the dirt to go when you are vacuuming. To fix this, remove the dust cup and empty the it. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt after emptying the dust cup, keep reading for other options to fix the suction.

If both your foam filter and felt filter have not been cleaned in the past month, this may be why your vacuum has lost suction. To clean the foam and felt filters, remove the dust cup and pull out the two filters that are on the top of the motor base. Rinse the filters with lukewarm water until the water is running clear. Let the filters dry fully before putting them back into the vacuum. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt, you may need to replace it.

If none of the other solutions worked, your motor may be bad. You would need to check with Shark about this.

If your need to replace your Shark parts such as filter, belts or hose, you can also order replacement parts directly to us. You can check our online store in this link: http://www.thinkcrucial.com/search?type=product&q=shark

Have a shark nv681 roller brush wont turn

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

Where is the reset button on shark navigator. vacuumed throw rug, and bar wont move

I'm not sure it has one. Check the owner's manual though.
Try this. Turn off vacuum. Unplug it. Make sure there are no clogs in main hose, power head intake tube, or intake inside tank. Plug it in, turn it on, and let us know what happens.

My vacuum (shark modle #UV210BV) turns on but has absolutely no suction.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

If the dust cup is too full, there is no space for the dirt to go when you are vacuuming. To fix this, remove the dust cup and empty it. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt after emptying the dust cup, there may be something blocking the airway. There are two places where you can check for a blockage: the dust cup air duct and the intake opening behind the brush roll. Next check the opening behind the brush roll for clogs. If there is debris, clean the opening with scissors, carefully cutting away any debris.

Uncleaned filters may also the reason why your vacuum has lost suction.
Unfortunately, if none of the other solutions worked, your motor is going bad. Most of the time a new motor costs as much as the vacuum itself and it is not easy to replace the motor. It may be time for a new vacuum.

Scuncii Steamer

It is probably clogged with rust or limescale - can happen with steam cleaners. Sadly there's no way around this but to try a limescale remover in distilled water such as Calgon limescale remover. Fill the kettle as normal and give it time to boil up. Then release the steam as you would normally. You may find that the kettle will spurt out deposits of gunk. Sounds like its definately clogged though.
