SOURCE: Whirlpool AKZ146/IX Oven Shutting off and

You have a burnt, broken or loose wire in there somewhere...finding it can be a real fact the only way you may find it will be to use an electrical meter and trace the power...even then it can be time consuming and difficult...

This type of problem often comes from using the "self cleaning" feature on your oven and often happens right after using it, as that is when the wires get too hot and burn.....

It also happens with age as the wires heat and cool and then the terminals start to loosen up and no longer make good contact....

You can sometimes find the loose wire by moving them around while the power is on, but this can be extremely dangerous!!!

SOURCE: Whirlpool Double Oven Model GBD307PDS09

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I understand based on your post you have the Whirlpool GBD307PDS09 double oven with the "fading display" scenario, correct ?

The issue with these displays is they can lose their intensity over time because of the fluorescent tube technology they use, hence the only remedy is to rebuild the control/display kit...the display only is not available.

**For the display/timer your only option (the only one I'm aware of)... it's the one I recommend as opposed to replacing the entire unit, is to have the existing display and control rebuilt...the down side is this will require the parts to be removed and sent away**

Here you'll find all the info pertaining to this option by clicking on the link's I've provided below. The first is the Whirlpool visitors site, the second is a list of timer numbers they do (yours is 8302319)

Hope this helps move you forward. Let me know if I can assist you further and good luck.

Oven Whirlpool AKZ 223/IX/1 error code - F 03

Looks like a problem with oven temperature sensor. Some of these models have a thermal fuse which may need to be checked and reset if possible or replaced.

The sensor is not cheap. see site

My oven..whirlpool model...has F1 in the display window. What does this mean?

F1 error code usually means that either the touch pad or the clock (ERC) is bad. It's simple if your model incorporates both as a single assembly - replace the clock/touch pad, problem's solved. But, when the touch pad is a separate component from the clock, how do you tell which of the two has failed, without having to replace both? Well, we have a simple test that can show you whether it's the clock (ERC) or the touch pad (membrane switch) that needs to be replaced. The test is available on the error code page right below the list of brands.

Solve it with replace electronic oven control (also called EOC or clock).

Hope helps.
