Sansa clip mp3 when switching on show the following message "not enough space for music DB please free 30Mb"

You don't mention what type of PC you manage your clip on .. but if it is a MAC

Plug the Clip in via USB

Click on the Sansa Clip listing on the left
- Not the disk itself, the DEVICE.
Click the 'Partition' tab
Under Volume Scheme, choose '1 Partition'
Click the 'Options...' button
Choose 'Master Boot Record', then click ok
Click the drop down next to 'Format:' and choose "MS-DOS (FAT)"
Click Apply
(Thanks to Pardsbane over at the anythingbutipod forum)

When this is complete, you can eject the disk if needed, and your clip should be back to normal.
You will probaly lose all music files when you do this.. but at least you will have your Clip back to a functioning device

If you have a Windows based PC
I suggest you first have the Sansa Updater installed or become familiar with how to manually update
Plug in the Clip via USB
Go to My computer
Delete one of the music files within the Music Folder
Close all
Test the clip
If this doesn't fix it..

You should reformat the drive
You will lose ALL music audio books stored on the drive
In My Computer Right Clik on the Sansa
Clik Format
Clik OK
When Complete run the Updater
Now try to place a album or song via WMP on the Clip
Test the clip before putting more music on it

Hope this helps

Can i transfer music from my sansa clip to my pc?

Yes, I've just had to do this after formatting my hard drive. It's simply the reverse of putting music onto your clip.

1. Make sure you have your clip to show up in My Computer
2. Open up My Computer
3. Double Click the Sansa Clip icon
4. Go to the folder where your music is stored and open it
5. When you have all your music files on the clip in front of you, simply copy an idividual file by right clicking it and choosing COPY from the menu, then navigate to where you want yo put this file and right click and PASTE. Alternatively, use drag and drop by having your source (clip) window open and your destination window (My Music etc.) open side by side.

What does that mean - "music db" ? I put all of my music on my 1 Gig and it works great. I put all Harry Potters audio books on my 8 GIG and still have 1.5 gig left for music.

I lost my disc can i still download

You can put music on it by doing the following (assuming vista/XP environment):

Connect it to your PC using the provided USB cable.
Open windows explorer and navigate to your Sansa Clip.
Click through "sansa clip", "internal memory" to the "music" directory.
Drag and drop MP3/wav files to this directory. Feel free to create subdirectories.
Your music will be accessible after doing this.
Be aware that the clip ignores your directories. It will look for artist, album, and title tags to categorize your tracks. You may have to look for your tracks in the "unknown" album directory when playing if your tracks don't have these (ID3?) tags.

Good Luck!
