I would check hte wire harness leadngto the door under hte freezer hinge. itll be wrapped in a black web like covering. Just under hte unit itself follow ht ewire and unplug hte harness. then carfully cut hte black webbing and inspect wires. there tends ot be apinch point there and the wires will sheer from one another, . if so there is no replcing hte harness, the door would have to be replaced at a cost of nealry $600. not enough room for a wire nut, but hav had sucess using stright inline bullet style connector, or others have sucessfully soldered connections back in place

The fix to the "GE/Hotpoint Secret" frozen water dispenser problem is the Dispenser Water Tube Heater Kit, P/N WR49X10173 that can be purchased at Sears. Just a few bucks. My Hotpoint (model HSM25GFRA5A) had the same issue and GE would not tell me anything but required a technician to come out. The technician had no clue but after making some calls found the heater at Sears and ordered it delivered to me. He had to setup a return appointment but I canceled it after getting the parts and fixing it myself. The instructions are in the kit. Since most all GE/Hotpoint refrigerators (same model group of course) use the same parts/assemblies this will work for lots of folks. See pic below. If the area behind the cover looks like this it may be the part. Feel free to email me for help on this (firstname.lastname@example.org). Piece of cake.

SOURCE: Fridge/freezer beeping
There is a lever switch usually above the door (when door is in open position) on the fridge cabinet. Not on the actual door. The beeping should stop if this lever is pressed. If the door is positioned correctly it would depress this lever when closed. It may be that the door adjustment is slightly out. If the beeping does not stop when depressed, then your printed circuit board (located usually above the door) is faulty and needs to be replaced.
