SOURCE: Model psc23sgpass GE Profile freezer and frig do

The fan is controlled thru the main control board located on the back of your refrigerator. Pull unit away from the wall and you will see a metal plate. The board is located there and you will need to replace the board. This is a common problem with the GE's. The board is pricey but better than a new refrigerator. If an appliance company told you the fan was bad you should try and get them to refund the fan. wr 55x10942 is the number you need.

Testimonial: "Yep! This was my next step. I replaced the control board and it ran my old evap fan motor. The freezer and refrig are at the proper temp. again. I was able to return the new evap fan motor I bought and tried for full credit."

SOURCE: Have a GE Profile PFS22MIBBB. Just replaced

You will need to unplug the fan and test the voltage coming from the board. You should have 12 to 13 volts DC. Unless you place a fan on condenser that blows air to keep it cool until we locate the problem the compressor can be damaged from over heating. Click here=> GE ARTICA PROFILE TECHNICAL INFORMATION On the first diagram the tech sheet and look for J2 that has both sets of wires for evaporator and condenser fan motors. With new board and new fan you must have a bad connection in the wiring harness. Click on wiring diagram and it will open in a new tab as a Service Manual. Look it over and ask me questions as communication will be very important for you to be able to understand all of this. I will be here when ready so please let me know. Please rate my solution after I have helped you resolve the problem and communicate with me. I am offering my help to you free. SOURCE: Just had the condenser fan

Good day,
On models with 2 compressors the condenser fan motor runs 24/7. It must since the compressors run randomly and that motor must be on since it handles both units.

Fan noise is subjective. It itself makes little noise but the blade does. If for example the blade was changed from the nylon style to a metal blade (good idea) then it would be somewhat louder.
If the noise is not objectionable then I would use it as is.

Sub zero 736 condenser fan not running

You will need to remove the cover around the condenser fan motor then remove the screws holding it down to the base. Remove the wiring from the junction box and away you go. Do not run the unit without a working condenser fan motor, you run the chance of causing yourself many other problems. With a new fan motor the unit should run fine unless there is waxing in the cap tube from overheating. Good luck

I have a 690 subzero refrig that runs almost continually and temps jump around from 38-46..any ideas

I had the vacuum condenser message on my sub zero for about five years. I vacuumed it every six months (as per the owners manual) and the message would go out for about a day and then come back. I figured it was just a bad code.

Recently, my frigerator temp went from the normal 38 to 40 deg F to about 53 to 55 deg F. My freezer temperature was normal (0 deg to -2 deg F). My unit is under warranty (parts only) -- Model 560 -- so I called an authorized service company. They found that my evaporator coil was bad and replaced. I had to pay for labor and freon so my bill was about $300.

Since then -- my warning message is gone and my frig temp is at 38 deg F. Constant. No waivering.

So - for those of you with a Sub Zero with a wandering frig temp and with the "vacuum condenser" message on all the time -- I am suggesting that you get service out to look at it immedately. More than likely -- you have a freon leak and the frig cooling is insufficient leading to the error message ("vacuum condenser"). I am guessing that my frig was running all the time leading to a higher electric bill (potentially -- an extra $10 - $15/month * 12 months * 5 years of owning the house = $600 - $900 of money thrown out the window.

Hope this helps!

My Subzero Condenser fan runs constantly - but coils are clean

If it is similar to mine at home (Model 550) the condensor fan is designed to run continuously, even when both the freezer and refrigerator are shut off. There is no control or switch in the fan circuit, so it just runs whenever the fridge is plugged in to the wall. It uses about 56 watts.

My sub-zero frig is running hot on perimeter strip

Usually, this either means that you have a dirty condenser unit or a faulty condenser fan motor. Check behind the top acess panel to the right and see if your condenser is clogged with dust. Also, check that the fan motor up there is going whenever the compressors are running.
