Question about VeriFone VX510

How can I turn off the print for settlement every night on a Verifone 510?

We rarely run credit card transactions and this option is wasting paper. Can i set this for manual print? Or weekly?

    I would like to turn of the print option on my terminal. I want to run manual reports as needed. Can this be done?

    The best method is having your merchant services provider modify the parameters in your download file. These options are application and credit processor dependant.

    PS: Paper can be found at very low costs search around for 2 1/4" x 80' Thermal Paper you can find it online for less than $0.50 a roll.

Hit arrow down to "other set-up", select that, then keep hitting the next button until you get to auto-settle, hit edit, select off, hit exit, hit confirm changes, then press the cancel/clear key to exit set-up mode.

This problem could have multiple causes. It sounds like you are receiving a settlement error, which are specific to each merchant services provider. You will have to call the merchant services provider so that they can look up the error message on their end and tell you what is causing the error. For example, the error message that you would receive if you use First Data would be different than the message you would get if you used Bank of America. Your terminal will not let you run any more cards until you resolve the settlement error. This is to prevent you from continuing to run cards in a corrupted batch, or a duplicate batch.

you would have to call your processing company and ask them to check if they sales completed the settlement. you can also run a report on your terminal by pressing the purple key marked reports, if the sales are still in the terminal they will show on this report if they settled it will not have information.

Reprint settlement report


press the purple key to the right that says reports, choose settlement and then print. if you do not have the report that you need call merchant services and ask them to send you one

Most likely because you settled the day in the morning and your processor only allows one batch settlement per day.
The type of terminal in this case doesn't matter. Hypercom, Ingenico, PAX, Verifone etc... It is all about what the processor allows in the programming.

How to batch out


Press the purple key on the right side of the screen that corresponds with the "Settlement" option. (Usually F3)

Key in password "1 alpha alpha 6 6 8 3 1" ENTER.

Confirm totals, ENTER

(No action while processing)

Settlement report prints

You should receive a "Settlement Successful" message & it will return to main screen.

1. Run a sale transaction, it should print out 1rst part of receipt, you can then cancel transaction by pressing red cancel button.

Once you "Batch Out" or do a "Settlement" on your credit card terminal you have cleared any/all transaction info from the terminal and cannot print/reprint/void any of the transactions. Detailed reports can be acquired from your processor in most cases.

Not after you settle it. There is nothing left for it to print off cause they have all been sent off.
