SOURCE: zanussi tumble dryer stops every 3 minutes

I fixed this problem by cleaning the float in the water tray at the bottom left of the machine. You need to remove the left side panel first. At the back you will be able to see the float that senses whether the reservoir is full through a small window. It should move up and down freely. If it doesn't then you will have to remove the reservoir cover. There is a small screw to remove, then ease the two spring clips so that the reservoir cover is released. You can now remove the float. Give it a good clean and clean inside the reservoir too. Double check that the switch is functioning correctly. You can hear it click.

SOURCE: ZDC5350W 'full tank' sensor

Look for the sensor in the tank. If it is a float sensor then check it is not stuck. If it is a probe then clean the insulator.

SOURCE: Zanussi 7102 won't start. Power is

Pat, Have you found a solution to this yet? I have got exactly the same fault today ! Having taken the top & left side of the dryer off, I found what looks like a broken drive belt - not the main drum drivebelt which is fine, but a shorter one (about 18cm diameter loop) with no obvious place for it to have come from. Any clues would be appreciated. Dave (drdave@fsmail.net)

The full tank light remains on even though the tank is empty. Is there a sensor which stops the dryer from restarting

The warm and cold air circuits cross inside the heat exchanger, which results in a thermal exchange which condenses the humidity contained in the warm air. The condensation which forms in the heat exchanger is collected in a sump, from which it falls by gravity into a tank. When the water in the tank reaches the max. level, the level of the water in the sump increases, which causes the float to move upwards, thus actioning a microswitch; The microswitch for dryers with electronic board sends a signal to the electronic circuit when the tank has been filled, switches off the appliance and lights a pilot lamp which indicates to the user that the tank is full. The microswitch with electromechanical control switches off the dryer (the timer motor is powered and ends its cycle) and lights a pilot lamp which indicates to the user that the tank is full.
The tank capacity is about 3.5 lt., enough for a drying cycle.

- Remove the screw (1) which secures the support micro and use a screwdriver for the two hooks which secure it to the sump.

- Lift them simultaneously and unthread the micro support towards outside
25069013-hcssld2gpo2sm22yg24xoxcy-3-2.jpg
Putting upside down the support you can access the floating microswitch.
25069013-hcssld2gpo2sm22yg24xoxcy-3-9.jpg Inside the sump there is the float.
To extract it rotate the float 90° clockwise as shown.
Lift it up, rotate it towards outside and extract it.

25069013-hcssld2gpo2sm22yg24xoxcy-3-14.jpg
While reassembling the pump, the float and the tank microswitch, repeat the same operations backwards, paying attention that when the micro support is remounted it is necessary to use a screwdriver in the fissure (indicated by the arrow), to lift the micro lever and lean it over the float (if this operation is not carried out the lever of the micro comes up alongside the float (it deforms) and the two components do not function anymore.

My air-o-swiss 7142 humidifier keeps giving me the empty indicator light to signify no water in the unit even though the base and the tank are full. If I try to reset it comes on for seconds and then shuts...

The water sensor is a float in the mister area of the base. The float is off in one corner with a little plastic barrier around it and translucent cap over it. Make sure the float can more freely. If the float can move up and down but the light stays on, the reed switch (a switch controlled by a magnet built into the float) inside the unit might have been knocked loose, damaged or disconnected. The switch is actually inside the post that the float slides on, but it can only be accessed from the underside - inside the unit.

Zanussi condenser dryers

It can be mechanical or electrical malfunction. I would check tank microswitch, float and lever.
Below is explained how the condensate drainage system works and that will facilitate fault detection.

Why does the power light keep blinking

The blinking light is wrongfully indicating that there is not enough water in the tank. The sensor is a small magnet that is floating in a compartment at the bottom of the water tank. (The black square in the corner) You shold be able to see it. Check if it is stuck at the bottom and if it is floating in its chamber. If that is OK, the sensor inside the coffee maker that is reading the magnet might either have come faulty or dispaced (due to a shock?). That would need a disasembly of the coffee maker.

The full tank light on the front comes on even after being drained.

is it a float switch stuck? Usually the pan has a switch or sensor to tell the unit when it's full. Sensor may need cleaning/drying or, as I say, may be a stuck switch.

My window washer fluid malfunction light always appears even when it full on my 2003 Mercedes C180... Please please help, where is the sensor and how do I fix it??!!

Hi,
There is a float sensor in the washer fluid reservoir, if you could get that sensor at the top of the reservoir( where two wires is connected ) without pulling down the reservoir assembly, do it.
That float sensor might be stuck to " LOW " position that's why it lights up in your gauge panel. Clean and wash by using any ordinary laundry soap, play the float up and down just to be sure that it can fully slide on the guide rod.
If you cant pull or get that float sensor, you have to pull down the entire reservoir, so you could pull out the sensor, eventually clean everything, even the reservoir itself.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for using FixYa!

Dishwasher panel displaying fe when turned on

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

FE is a fill error. This can be cause by a problem with the water supply, the inlet water valve, the Float sensor or the Flood sensor. Check the float sensor usually in the front left or center positon of the tub. It should lift and drop for a distanct of about 3/8 inch. If they get coated with food stuffs on the stem they stick. The flood sensor is usually mid point right or left side of the lower tub. Same thing here... if they get stuck in the UP position they waill not allow water to be introduced into the tub. Since you did not include a model number... I have to include all types of sensors. Some float and flood sensors are finger like and have a small slot in them to sense water level. The small slot clogs and they no longer sense properly or hold water when the tub is empty giving erronous inputs. Wipe off the finger slots.

IF the Float and flood sensors are ok the next step is to first POWER off dishwaher circuit. Then turn off the water supply and disconnect the water line at the inlet water valve to inspect for debris. Also you should briefly test the water supply line by placing a rag over the input line and turning on the water while catching the water in a short sided baking dish. (
If there is not a problem with water supply or debris then the final step is to measure continuity of the inlet water valve solenoid. No continuity = open coil and will require the inlet water valve to be replaced.

Since you did not include a model number this is a very generic response.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

It get alarm and wrote on the digital panel F:23

There is a float sensor in the base - it tells you if there is a leak - and most importantly - turns off the water supply so you don't get a flood.

Remove the base kick panel and look with a torch for a float.
Disconnect power first.

Dry off the float area - remove water and it will work again - but you need to find that leak.

Why is my gas gage showing a full tank when the tank is empty?

Two possibilities;
The gauge itself is stuck at full (a few sharp whacks with your hand under the instrument panel may free it, if it is), or the float in the tank is stuck at the top.

There's an access panel under the trunk liner, and reaching through it and tapping on the sensor mount with the rubber handle of a screwdriver may free it.

These are the simple and easy things to look for first...of course, it gets harder from here...
Your float sensor could have gone bad, but in some models the sensor is fused which opens the possibility of a simple fuse change.
