What is error code 51031 on the wii

Error Code 51030, 51031, 51032
It appears that your Wii console's Internet connection may be affected by wireless interference. Try the following:

    • Change your wireless router's channel to 1 or 11
Changing the wireless channel on your router may help. Most wireless routers have a channel range of 1 through 11. The best channels to try are usually 1 and 11, as they do not overlap with other channels. Typically, the channel settings for your router will be found in the router's main "Wireless" tab.

    • Where is your wireless router located?
Move your router away from walls and off the floor and try to place it in a central location in your home. Also, keep it away from metal objects such as metal filing cabinets which can cause interference.

    • Look for other devices
Noise from cordless devices (cordless phones), or wireless electronics (wireless keyboards, headphones, cell phones), especially those using the 2.4GHz frequency, can interfere with your wireless signal. Also, older microwave models can cause wireless interference. Avoid electronics that use the 2.4GHz frequency, instead look for devices that use the 5.8GHz or 900MHz frequencies.

I have installed a router on my computer hoping that I can get the internet with my Wii. I keep getting the Error Code: 51031

lssaved

It sounds like you just have a setup issue. If you let me know the make and model of router you have I can make sure you have it setup properly.

Also to clarify with you it this a new router and did you just install the software on your computer. Note all the software does is help configure the router to talk to your high speed internet modem.

Nintendo has a pretty thorough troubleshooting website in place. Your specific error code led to this.

Once you fix your internet connection issue, Netflix has a channel that can be downloaded via the Wii Shop Channel. Assuming you have a Netflix account, you'll be able to stream movies through your Wii using this channel.

Error code 51031

Error Code: 51031 - I had same problem. Worked one day, not the next. I went into Wii Settings/ Internet/ Connection Settings/ Conection 1,2 or 3/ Clear Settings. Then click 'Search for access point'. Click on your your home internet (Sky, Virgin, O2 or whatever), input WEP (written on base of router) or private password if you changed the WEP when you first got broadband installed in your house and it should connect.

Did for me.
