If the store you bought the thing from is still there they should have replacement parts at that store for you.

Instructions
    • 1 Disconnect the range's power supply, either by turning off the breaker in your service panel, or unplugging the range from the wall outlet.
    • 2 Remove the burner grates, burner caps and burner bases. On some ranges, the burner bases are secured using screws, which you must remove.
    • 3 Insert a putty knifeicon1.png into the gap below the front of the each side of the range to release the spring clips securing the top to the range.
    • 4 Lift the top, and then have a partner hold the top up. If you are repairing the range alone, place a sturdy object under the top to secure it.
    • 5 Remove the burner orifice containing the igniter that you are replacing.
    • 6 Remove the screw securing the igniter to the underside of the orifice, and then remove the igniter.
    • 7 Pull the igniter wire off of the terminal, and then discard the igniter.
    • 8 Connect the igniter wire to the new igniter.
    • 9 Secure the new igniter to the underside of the orifice using the screw that you removed.
    • 10 Replace the burner orifice, and then secure it into position using the bolt that you removed.
    • 11 Lower the top onto the stoveicon1.png, and then press down to engage the spring clips.
    • 12 Replace the burner bases, caps and grates.
    • 13 Restore power to the range by plugging it back into the wall outlet or turning on the range breaker.

Viking gas oven model # VGIC3656BSS, serial #022404-2919 takes FOREVER to preheat up. Sometimes in excess of 40 minutes. Been a problem for a while. Looks like flames at bottom do not increase when oven...

When increasing the temp. on a gas range the oven's burners do not increase flame size as the cooktop burners do. It just keeps the burner lighted for a longer amount of time.

First if you can see the burners do they light within about a min. or less. If no you probably have bad igniters which are not lighting the burners as quickly as they should or they are "opening up" (stops working) when they get too hot. In this case replacement of the igniters should solve the problem.

Second if it lights quickly but still takes a while to heat; you want to look at the burners to ensure that the flames are down both sides of the burner tube and not dancing around too much. If only part of the two sides of the burner tubes are lighted then a pluged orifice or burner tube is the most likely cause. Once cleaned it should work fine.

As with anything mechanical there are numurous possiblities for something not working correctly and above are the two most popular reasons that come to my mind.

Oven won't heat up

Hi. This sounds like a weak igniter, the symptoms usually are: burner won't light, or takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature or burner does not come on fully. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.

Range works, but oven does not heat up and I smell the gas . What should I do?

  • remove the oven cavity bottom, remove burner shield and clean the burner inside the oven.
  • make sure all holes in the oven bottom are not covered with anything (i.e. foil)
  • adjust ignitor position (move it slightly closer to burner)

Cgr3765adc, during bake mode upper burner does not ignite, gas smell. upper burner does ignite during broiler mode however. this problem seems to be in control module perhaps, not with igniter or burner...

In bake mode only the bottom burner will ignite. The gas smell could be caused by improper adjustment of the air intake on the bake (bottom) burner or something (foil) covering the holes in the oven cavity floor.
