First, separate motor and pump. Remove back cover of motor. Drive shaft of motor either has a slot on end for a large screwdriver or a flat on it for a wrench.(usually 7/16) Hold shaft and unscrew impeller.

I cannot start pumping. the pump runs but no water is circulating

I think you have spun the center out of your impeller. Disassemble your pump and replace the impeller if necessary. Also replace all seals while you are at it.

It's a matter of removing the main casing, impeller, diffuser, seal assembly, baffle, shaft sleeve, fan cowl, fan, motor end shield and rotor in that order - which part of this procedure are you having trouble with?

How to remove the impeller from a Masport Onga HJ200 pump to access and replace the seal between the pump and the motor.

The impeller is screwed on to the motor shaft; to remove it you need to hold the motor shaft at the fan end so that you can unscrew the impeller - normal right hand thread. Holding the shaft can sometimes be quite difficult so a good suggestion would be to remove the fan cowl along with the fan, this will enable you to secure the shaft with a small pipe wrench or similar. Once you have the impeller removed it will be possible to ascertain what steps need to be taken next - you may need a new shaft sleeve as well as a new mechanical seal assembly.
Good luck,

How do you remove the impeller and mechanical seal off the pump shaft? I am wanting to change the main bearing that sits inside the motor housing of a Onga pool pump PPP750 model.

The impeller is screwed on to the shaft, you need to pull the cover off the end of the motor opposite the pump so you can hold the shaft to keep it from turning. The impeller should unscrew with just hand pressure, most are a standare SAE thread and turn counterclockwise to remove. Hope this helps.

Plastic impellor sticks inside on onga pool pump and i can't get free .When i try with phillips head screwdriver it is jamming and i can't loosen to get impellor off and the pump only makes noise and can't...

Your Onga Pool pump was running dry causing the
impeller to melt down and stick to the pump case.
You have to remove the impeller, and the only way
to take it off by using the heat gun to melt the stucked plastic impeller. Or by forcing it off slowly, cutting the impeller using hacksaw, taking care of the mechanical seal and the motor shaft not to bend it. Afterwhich you can replace the impeller, and assemble the Onga pump/motor. Then, you can
install the Onga pump back to its location. Just
send you e-mail for further assistance. God bless
you.

Onga jsp 130 leaks

It is leaking due to a defective mechanical seal. It needs to be replaced. To replace it, is to take the pumpcase
off by taking off the bolts that hold it. Then, take the impeller off to take the mechanical seal behind it. Put the replacement in, and reassemble the pump. Just get in touch with us by e-mail to get more assistance.
