Question about Computers & Internet
I have a Garmin gpsmap 498 and the backlight doesn't work. Don Adzigian seems to of found the problem but i can't figure out where the L-shaped ccfl (cold cathode fluorescent lamp.) is? any help with this would be greatly appreciated
Did I understand this right, you do know how to replace the backlight, but you cannot locate it inside the unit ? Try to look here: http://goo.gl/6hCS

SOURCE: My Gateway notebook, model :
If you see the Fujitsu HDD model#: MHU2100AT. under BIOS setup, that means the HDD is there but the operating system is not loading up. Try the following:
1. Run System Recovery (turn the computer ON and press the F11 key simultaneously) - take note that this will erase everything and you'll start from scratch.
2. If you have a Recovery Discs, press F12 simultaneously upon boot-up and choose to boot from the CD/DVD drive
3. If a System Recovery Window came up (see image below), then proceed and wait until it restore Windows.
If you don't get an image similar to the screen above, and you get an error like PXE Error Media State Media Disconnected, or 0x000000E or "An I/O Error occured" - this is a sign that your HDD is already failing and needs to be replaced. If you're still under warranty, call gateway support at 1-800-846-2000.
