I took my computer in to get fixed and have a virus taken off. The computer was wiped clean with the exception of some of the programs they saved for me. I can get my speakers to work now. I have a Boston - Number BA745 that came with my Gateway when I bought it. Is there something that I can do to get my speakers to work or do I have to take it back to the shop. I when through all the steps they show you on the computer but I still don't have any sounds. I even had my son check everything even the connection. Any help that you can give will be greatly apprecated. Thank You Susie Barnes

Do you think when they wiped my computer clean that they removed my program. Do you think that I might have to re-install it.

Mam, i think that your computer got the problem not your speaker. try to use your speaker onto another computer or use it on some mp3 and see if it plays. if not then your speaker got problem. better send it to repair shop or the place where you bought it. otherwise if your speakers plays or functioning correctly then try to format your computer and install the drivers on it. hope that helps

thank you for using fixya

What on my comp is using all my data

It's easy to get malware, junkware and viruses when you say "yes" to popups and emails. I learned a few tricks about cleaning up my computer, and my favorite tool is the FixMeStick.

I bought an "open box" computer from a store that was loaded up with malware as you describe. In fact, it took me a week to finally get it all cleaned up. Every time I rebooted, the malware found a way to come back and reinfect itself on my machine.

I'd recommend saving your data, and wiping your whole machine, reinstalling the operating system, and running a good anti-malware application like Kaspersky.

Why cant I load facebook onto my computer? Every other website works, except facebook. Can you please help me?

This may be a Microsoft problem. Try a different browser, like google chrome, firefox or Avant. Run your McAfee over your computer to scan for viruses and then quarantine.

I have virus in my computer, its so slow how can i take out my virus from my Computer

There are a couple ways. Try downloading a free virus protection software program like AVG or avast!. They only provide virus protection, but they also clean up your PC. If your computer is too far gone, you may need to take it into a tech store and get your Hard Drive wiped clean.

I have data stored on the simple drive that I saved (Favorites list, email address book, pictures, etc.) Everything had to be taken off my computer due to a virus & rebuilt...how do I get this...

Hi there, you can try a data recovery software.I have succeed to recover data from flash drive with Tenorshare data recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your flash drive to look for lost data.
By the way,you can download a trial version and scan your flash drive for free to check out whether your data can be recovered. http://www.any-data-recovery.com/index.htm

Typing slow

Slow performance can be from many different problems. The keyboard may be fine but the PC may have a problem. Except for a wireless keyboard which may have a low battery or obstructed receiver problem.

First go to START / Programs / System Tools / System Restore. Select SET RESTORE POINT and give it a name. This will let you restore your system to the current condition if anything goes wrong.

Try downloading "CCleaner" from www.download.com (it's FREE). Install it and let it clean up your Windows and your Registry. (You might de-select Cookies option to preserve your logins saved on your Internet browser) It will offer to save original Registry before cleaning it up. In most cases this will resolve slow performance from outdated Windows instructions and Registry errors.

Next go to My Computer / Right click on C drive (boot drive) and select Properties. Go to Tools and select Defrag Drive. If problem is serious you should also run Check Disk and select to make automatic repairs. These programs will take some time to run.

If the problem still persists, update and run your Anti-Virus software. If you do not have Anti-Virus software go to www.download.com and select AVG Free from the right hand column. This is a very good Free Anti-Virus software.

Disclaimer: The programs I recommend are suggested because they are free and very easy for the computer novice to use. I have no financial interest in these programs. I recommend and use these programs in my computer repair business.

My dell inspiron 1545 has suddenly started to go to sleep on its own and take a very long time to load. today it didn't wouldn't get past the 'dell' load page. i took the battery out of it and turned it...

You can try reloading it but it may only temporarily fix the problem if at all... it also may have some type of virus...try scanning it with an antivirus program first.

Hope this helps

I have a major virus and am wondering if eee pccan

I personally don't recommend wiping your whole computer unless its a last ditch effort. But wiping your computer and starting with a fresh install will always get rid of any virus you previously had.

I suggest that you take a different approach and clean your computer first. If you can connect to the internet with the infected computer go to this link and download Malwarebytes' Anti-malware Here
If you cannot connect with the infected pc, use another one and download it, then copy the file to a usb thumb drive or burn it to a blank cd and transfer it to the infected computer.

*Once downloaded, close all programs and Windows on your computer.
*
follow the prompts in order to install the program. Do not make any changes to default settings. When the program has finished installing, make sure you leave both the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware checked. Then click on the Finish button. **Note. If you cannot connect to the internet with the infected pc, make sure that the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware box is UN-checked

*
Once the program installs, MBam should start automatically.

*
On the Scanner tab, make sure the the Perform full scan option is selected and then click on the Scan button to start scanning.

*Once the scan is finished (could take a few minutes) a box will pop up stating: "The scan completed successfully. Click 'show results' to display all objects found." Click [OK]

*Once you see the main page again, click on [show results]
*Next, click on Remove Selected button and the program will remove everything nasty its found. **Note: You may get another popup stating that Mbam needs to restart your computer to finish removing infections. Make sure you say yes or ok and allow it to restart.

*I suggest that after the first reboot you should run another complete scan just to be sure.

*A log file with actions taken by Mbam will also popup. If feel like you need more help, you can click on [file] and go to "save as.." and save it to your desktop. Then send an email to [email protected] and attach the logfile you just saved to your desktop to send to me. I will review the infections found and can tell you if you need to take further action. Its up to you.

Also, make sure you have some sort of Anti-Virus program that has a real time scanner. Malwarebytes' Pro, AVG, & Dr.Web are a few that I trust.

Hope this helps!

Aspire 5315 have virus

You could try downloading an anti-virus such as Avast: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

If you are able to install, allow it to run the boot-time scan. When it does, it will help you detect and remove viruses that it finds.

This may save you from having to wipe your computer.
