Question about Gateway MX6030 Notebook
My laptop, Gateway MX6030 has a password on the bios/boot
I have tried the 4 backdoor passwords for the phoenix motherboard and removed the bios battery and resoldered it. I don't know what else to do, Can somebody Help?
How long did you leave the battery out?
To discharge the BIOS you need to short out the battery contacts, or disconnect the battery for 1/2+ hours.
If this does not work the it is near impossible to remove because the password would be stored on an EEPROM chip.
Check with Gateway, they might suggest a motherboard replacement just like IBM.
