In most of the tankless water heaters the tempature of the warter is controled by the rate(amount) of vlow of the water passing through the unit. Turn down the flow of water going into the water heater and the water that is still passing through will be hotter. Carefully. A little at a time,so as not to be too hot.

My water heater shuts down in cold weather. How do I fix this problem

Add tempering tank.
Tempering tank made from old tank-type water heater, or small tank heater will passively heat incoming water.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tempering-tank.html

This works because tankless can only raise temperature so many degrees. If water is very cold, tankless cannot keep up, so the sensors shut down the unit.
Passively preheating water... or using a small tank connected to power can preheat water enough so tankless works.
Also delime tankless each year will help remove natural scale that builds up inside tankless heat exchanger.

I have a PowerStar tankless electric water heater, model #44-557710 and it was replaced about 3 months ago. This morning I had hot water and this afternoon I do not. When I call for hot water a red light...

Call Bosch. And exercise your 10 year parts warranty rights.
Copy following link for Bosch power star manuals:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Bosch-Tankless-water-heater.html#Ariston
Check circuit breakers, fully off and then fully back on. Test if voltage is at least 80% rating plate on unit. Check that temperature dial is set correctly. Call for service again.
Don't install tankless computer that heats water. You cannot fix this computer yourself, and they are problematic for owners.
Go to Lowes right now, spend $285 and buy tank-type electric water heater, roll it into your house, and save money, since the electric tankless computer heater costs average $100 more per year to operate than tank-type heater for average family of 4.
Tank type heater can be repaired by homeowner same day for $25 using off-the-shelf parts from hardware store. And that empowers the regular guy, and gets you off the junk tankless treadmill.

I have a Bosch GWH 425 HNO propane Tankless Water Heater which began intermittently exploding when demand for hot water occurs.

Call a qualified service tech immediately.
Gas explosion indicates dirty combustion parts, and gas is not fully igniting when tankless turns on the gas. So gas builds up and then explodes causing serious damage to tankless, and serious risk to homeowner.

Before calling service technician, open following link for Rheem tankless resources including error codes and possible manual.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html

Read your manual for troubleshooting, advisories and required maintenance.
Tankless are maintenance heavy.
1L means tankless heat exchanger has lime build-up.
De-lime tankless unit.
U-tube has videos for de-liming tankless, but there is more to consider:

De-liming is yearly maintenance requirement.
Tankless are prone to lime build-up
Regular de-liming will not restore full efficiency to tankless unit.
Tankless cannot be exposed to water with more than 11 grains hardness.
Temperatures over 135 can cause minerals in water to harden on metal surfaces of any water heater.

Also clean Tankless water filter each month, and clean and maintain burner and combustion chamber yearly.
The cost of maintenance and cost of expected repairs and cost of parts plus cost of original installation will never pay back the $1-8 monthly savings on gas bill. All costs are energy.
Make sure there is qualified service technician in area before buying tankless.

All tankless and tank-type gas water heaters require regular cleaning and maintenance.
It is unknown if your unit needs maintenance or repair parts, but catching up on maintenance using information from manual is good place to start.
Gas appliances are increasingly complicated and experienced technician is good resource to have in local area before installing tankless.

The heater is only kicking on low as the wate demand goes up the temperature of the water drops because the heater is not kicking up like it used to. The heater is a little over a year old.

-Tankless water heaters are susceptible to lime build-up if not de-limed each year.
-Hard water will clog pressure-sensor and cause failure within 2 years if filter and softener are not working.
-Water flow and water pressure sensors inside tankless are succeptible to hard water deposits.
-Low water pressure from clogged pipes to municipal water problems to water well pressure valve can affect tankless burner
-Low-flow shower heads may not engage burner.
-With tankless-gas water heaters, sensors inside combustion area detect when incoming air flow is not adequate ... inspect inflow
-Your manual probably has a troubleshoot section.
-The manufacturer will refer you to installer.
-If you self-installed unit, that will void warranty to my understanding.
-There are water heater forums 1 2 3 4
-There are plumbers who will each have a different opinion
-There are Fixya experts who get paid to tell you the above.
-And there are local plumbers who are authorized dealers of the brand of tankless who get paid to fix them

I'm curious about Bosch Hydro Generated Ignition used in tankless hotwater heaters. I believe a spark is generated by a small turbine driven by water demand... how reliable is this system? Can it be...

Experienced this a lot in Australia. After lots of hassle I went back to the battery operated model. The turbine can get stuck if you have debris in the water and I found it just something else to go wrong. Sounds like a good idea in theory, guess I am just an old school guy; keep it simple!!!

Tankless on demand water heater.

Tankless water heaters normally take a little longer than a regular heater to provide hot water because they have to start and get warmed up. I'm guessing the heater uses a pilot light and that the short amount of hot water when you turn on the tap is hot because when the water is sitting still in the heater the heat from the pilot light is enough to get it hot. The tub faucet will get hot a lot faster than the shower because it lets a lot more water through and empties out the pipes faster than the shower. You could probably speed things up by letting the tub faucet run on completely hot for like 10-15 seconds and then turning on the shower.

Burners will not disengage after shutting off Hot Water.

Ok the way this system works is from a pressure and flow switch. The pressure switch picks up the slight drop in pressure when the hot side water is turned on then turns on the burner. The flow switch measures the amount of water flowing and adjusts the size of the burner to the amount of water flow. So a couple different things might be happening. The flow switch might be sticking causing the water heater to throttle down the burner but not off when the water flow is off. Or the gas control valve might be by-passing gas when off causing the burner to stay on even when the demand is off. Run the hot water on high demand then turn the water off. If the burner is still on try banging on the water heater with your hand and see if the burner shuts off completely. If it does the gas control valve might be by-passing. You would also need to check and see if the pressure/flow switch is giving any voltage signal changes when the water flow is off. These tankless water heaters are more comlplicated to work on than a standard water heater and you may need a professional's help...good luck
