Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Cycle lights blinking and dishwasher will not start.

When we go to start the dishwasher as usual the lights on the control panel to which ever buttons we push start blinking and won't stop. I checked inside and there are no loose items in the bottom of dishwasher. I have tripped the circuit breaker and the lights went off but came back on and continued to blink.

Error 1 on kenwood dishwasher

Hello.
Manufactured by Whirlpool, Kenmore dishwashers have an electronic control panel that must be unlocked in order to set or make changes to your dishwashing cycle. If an error light is blinking on your dishwasher's control panel, the panel must be reset before you can gain access. Blinking lights on your dishwasher control panel may signal a mechanical problem that needs to be repaired. If the lights continue to blink after you've reset the control panel, contact Sears to service your Kenmore dishwasher or consider troubleshooting the appliance yourself.
1Press and hold the "Heated Dry" button on your Kenmore dishwasher for four seconds to unlock the dishwasher control panel.
2 Press the "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" buttons one after the other, in fairly quick succession.
3 Wait for the dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test.
4 Press the "Cancel/Drain" button at the end of the diagnostic test cycle. This should reset the control panel on your Kenmore dishwasher.

Thanks.

Blinking lights, not washing

Usually blinking lights are indicating bad touch panel buttons. Remove kick plate, (black panel under door) and find service instructions there. It will tell you how to test button panel, as well as any codes flashing. Also will tell you hot to try a reset.

How do I stop the buttons from flashing, and get the wash cycle ?

If the clean light is blinking then here are some instructions on what may be causing it and how to reset the control.

If there are other buttons flashing the user interface (button control panel) has a short in it and will need replaced.

Cancel light and rinse only light keep blinking and wont start

Hello,

Hopefully you have resolved your issue. I have not heard of the cancel light flashing issue. I have had problems with the clean light flashing seven times over and over and the control panel will not operate. Here is the solution to that. Maybe it will work for your issue as well.

Open dishwasher door,
Push Hi Temp Scrub button,
Push Saver Dry button,
Push Hi Temp Scrub button again,
Push Saver Dry button again,
All lights on control panel will come on.
Close dishwasher door,
Push Baked on Cookware or Normal Button.
Dishwasher should start and complete cycle.

It is good if you have kids that play video games. Their fingers are used to pushing buttons quickly. I guess this resets the control board. The service guy let me have this info as I used to deliver appliances and work on them somewhat.Hope this helps.

Good Luck,
Tom
