Problem for LG WFT1071TP Top Load Washer

LG WF1801TP no spin + noise

Hi,

I may have 2 unrelated problems or just one:

1) Washmachine started to be come noisey. I believe is the draining pump.

2) Washmachine agitates but will not spin. I hear a vibrating noise when it is in spin cycle (draining pump?).

I do not see the belt spinning when the machine is in spin mode. I do not receive errors saying the lid is open (not being able to find a lid switch is really bugging me, trust me I am a little handy).

Wash, drain, fill: all seem to be working.

Does anyone know of an online service manual or have a solution that does not require special tools (tell me about special tool repairs too).

thanks,

Stuntman

I've had a similar problem on a few occasions with this model of washing machine. The first time I had a repairman come out and he found a dime in this little black box which connects to the drain hose at the bottom of the machine. I watched him fix it the first time and have had to do it a few times after myself. Both times it was a dime that had slipped through and caused an enormous racket when the machine tried to go into spin mode.

I have the same problem with my LG top loading washer. I removed the belt and let it spin again, the motor worked well . So i figure that the problem must be mechanical, maybe the leaver that is suppose to engage the tub for spinning is not engaging. If I had a manual maybe i could fix it , but for now I know where the problem is and have to check with service tech.
