Re: video

This set could have a few differant problems to cause this to happen. Lets explore them. Pull off the front speaker grill off the front of this TV set. Take the the screws that hold on the wooden panel. Now behind this wooded panel you will see a block with six small controls on it. There will be three focus controls, and there will be three screen controls. before you turn any controls though, mark where they are located so you can return them to the place where they were set before you turned them. Now we are only interested in the screen controls for now. With the set on, and do not touch anything else, slowly turn up the middle screen control clockwise and see if you get any light on the screen. If you go all the way and no light, you have a problem in the vertical drive circuit, or the screen block is bad, if there is light but no video, you have a video problem in the video drive or RGB drive circuit, and if you do get a picture, turn up the other two screen controls and balance out the picture. If you do not get anything, return the controls to the priginal postions. This set will need to be dug into deeper to find out where the fault is. Tis video blanking is a safety circuit in this set to prevent damage to the picture tubes. If you understand how these circuits work, I do have the chassis(RA-6) Manual for this TV set. if you think this will help you trouble shoot this TV set i will send you a copy via e-mail and save you 25 or so bucks. Leave an e-mail address if you wish to have a copy. Good Luck

Hook up sony blu ray

You should be able to hook it up with a component video cable. A component video cable is a cable that has 5 color coded RCA style ends that are Green/Blue/Red/White/Red. The Green, Blue and one of the Reds is for the video and delivers the signals needed to produce the HD picture and the White and the other Red is for the audio to provide you with stereo sound.

The Video cords will plug into the section labeled component video facing up and down and the audio will plug into the side by side section. So if you plug into Component input 2 then you would plug in the audio into the audio section of input 2.

If you have a separate surround sound system you can connect one of two ways.
1. Plug a separate Audio (red/white) cable from the Blu Ray to an available input on the surround sound.

2. Plug all inputs into the TV (as noted above) and then plug a separate Audio (red/white) cable from the tv labeled "Audio Out" to an available input on the surround sound system.

No sound when the tv is on and the mute is turned off

I still am unclear as to your hook up but lets try this, if you have your DVD/VCR plugged into the TV audio and video and a audio cord from the tv monitor out to an input on the reciever, this way you should hear the sound at the tv and reciever.
However if you have your DVD/VCR plugged into the reciever first audio and video connections made at the reciever you should just have a video cord fromthe monitor out of the reciever to the tv and your audio will come from the reciever

My HD only works on my video setting, but I have no sound

Ok so the sound is fine on all of the other sources,
The component is running from the cable box to the amp, and you can see it.
just take the audio Red/Whit RCA out of the cable box, and input it to Cable/TV or whatever its labled, Red White, RCA.

If you want surround, then you will have to go Coaxial((single orange RCA) or TOS out of the cable box to the Digital input on the AMP. When you use this instead of Red White RCA, your amp will automatically switch between the different types of surround depending on what the source calls for or is encoded in.

You may have to get into the amps menu and change that amps input to Digital/Coax/TOS for the surround sound.

Any more specific questions, I need the model #s.

Sony KF50we60 hdmi-dvi sound cuts when plugging into a ht-sf2300

DVI = HDMI without the audio connectors. So basically you need to connect your audio in some different way, PS3s allow you to keep your video signal as HDMI and change the Audio signal to component, so that is one way or doing it, not sure if the blue ray players allow you to do this though.

Yamaha DSPAX761 no s-video to HDMI

S-Video and Composite are analogue and HDMI is digital. Your receiver dose not have the capability to convert from analogue to digital and hence you are not not getting any video.

Video input

There may be a child lock feature on your set but you would not get sound or picture. If you can not get a picture from the video input jacks and the set works fine other wise then this - sounds like a problem with the Video switching circuits inside your television. I would refer this type of repair to a qualified technician.
