What are you running thru Video 2?
Have you unplugged the AC cord and re-powered up yet?

When you plug the video connector into the plug in the back ..does it have the same "feel" as plugging into any of the other video connectors?
Does the Video 2 jack look diff or feel loose?

I'm not sure what you paid for the unit and I ( obviously) dont know where you live but I would suggest having a tech look at it . It may be something as simple as a couple of solder joints not really well soldered.
It could be the integrated circuit that switches the various audio sources thru the amp.

AVR 1600 receiver won't connect to bose series III EQ

You mean BOSE 901 Series III Active Equalizer; and HARMAN KARDON AVR1600 right?

Sure it will. It goes in a Tape Loop such as Tape Out/In or Video 1 Out/In. But it won't work for anything except analog stereo sound sources as all digital audio is not available to the RECORD OUT jacks when the Tape or Video 1 is activated. AND 901 Active EQ is intended solely for 901's, not any other speaker system

The HK has no Line Level volume-controlled Pre-Outs so you're out of luck if you want the 901's to take part in a multichannel setup, which would require a separate power amp to drive them anyway.

HK AVR70 Unit has been fine. Not sure what happened? With the volume turned up loud you only hear 5% of the sound coming out of the speakers.

Sounds like either the speakers are bad or the output stage is bad. Try different speakers and if not, then the electronics will need to be diagnosed.

HK avr-25 - everything seems to work except sound is not being amplified. What could be the problem?

Check the speaker 1/2 buttons that turn the speakers on and off, they have a habit of getting corroded. Click them in and out about 20 times each.

Play with the balance knob, run it side to side about 20 times. Turn the unit off and do the same with the volume knob.

Ensure mute is off.

Check that the tape monitor is off.

Check that you are on the correct input.

I cannot remember if the MK2 had pre-out to main-in bridges on the back, if it does make sure they are pluged in all the way.

Let me know if this helps,

I have a Harman Kardon 435 receiver hooked up for 5 channel surround sound. Receiver will start out fine playing off dvd, but then will inevitably "lock up" and I can't do anything including change source,...

I would perform a firmware update, but that does not sound like a problem that is easily fixed if the reset procedure does no fix things.

I'l ask HK next time i talk to them, I have never had this happen on a 435 yet.

No sound when on internet radio, playtime is running, volume is not muted, internet ok

It was solved by turning the receiver off with the power button (not stand-by). After turning on the netradio did have its sound back. Apparantly it must be running some sort of Windows os.

Harmon AVR 254 No Video, No Sound.

The reason your receiver is causing you issues is cause of a 2 time Delay fuse's on the transformer board all you have to do is to by pass them.
Check the connector on the top front of the HDMI board. at the bottom of the connector it tells you the voltage of each wire the middle one is GND. should read 1.8v and 5.6v if the 5.6v line is dead. you key's in the front panel and sometimes video and audio as well.. will also stop working. all you have to do is to by pass them.

I will be posting a video later today on how to fix this issue. Regards,

No sound

1. check if the amp is in PROTECTION mode (might be a bad speaker or shorted output)
2. check the 'MUTE' switch
3. try to use the FM/AM mode to isolate an input source. If there is sound then check input source.
4. ...still no sound have a techinician check it.
