Hal:

I remove the muffler, and clean it with a spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol... make sure that the alcohol is completely evaporated before starting the saw with the muffler on it. You can also use carburetor cleaner. An old toothbrush comes in handy also.

check gas tank vent and cap. Adjust carb a small amount ie. back out screw marked L 1/4 turn. If that does not work adjust screw marked "H" 1/4 turn out if no results adjust back to original position and go 1/4 turn farther in.

there are a number of things that can cause this. # 1, a dirty air cleaner element. # 2 the high speed jet needs to be adjusted out. # 3 a bad spark plug. # 4 a vacuum in the gas tank. # 5 the chain brake is on. Hope this gives you some clues.

My Homelite d3300 DX series runs great for a while then quits some say its a stopped up but it looks clean some say air filter it is clean do you have any solutions I mixed gas ratio 40:1

Hal:

Check the fuel filter at the end of the fuel line in the tank... sometimes it will get hung up in the tank and won't be immersed in the gas. also check to see if there is enough fuel line in the tank to ensure that the fuel filter stays immersed in the fuel in the tank.

Homelite Chain Saw UT10550 / 18 in. engine starts but will not run at enough speed to cut

It sounds like not enough fuel, air, compression or restricted exaust. Take the muffler off and run it and see if that fixes it. If so clean the muffler and exaust port and your good to go.

Hello, I have came upon a Homelite Super2 chainsaw i can get it to start for a seconds then sputters out. Would like to take it apart and clean it up, any help is appreciated and thank you. need a manual.

Check the fuel filter for plugging, the fuel lines for hardness/cracks/splitting, and the air filter for plugging. Check the muffler for plugging as well. If still reluctant, dismantle the carburetor, clean, and re-kit. The lower diaphragm is prone to harden and crack. Good luck!

Homelite d3300 chainaw has stopped lubbing itself

Oil System Plugged.
Remove the clutch cover, bar and chain. Clean the oiler hole and channel. Start the saw and see if it oils when revved up. If yes reassemble your saw.
If no a blunted, hooked piece of wire can be used to pull the hose in the oil tank out. I recommend the filter be replaced. Work your way through the linkage cleaning and replacing any defective parts as you go. Carefully check the hoses for cracks especially at bends and connections. If equipped with an oil pump it is usually behind the clutch (clutch is probably left handed thread). Please make extensive notes & some digital pictures will help during reassembly. GL
