have you try install your game in Safe Mode? to end background processes restart your computer and select Safe Mode.then try this:
Reinstall the installation InstallShield software.
1. Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar.
2. Select Run.
3. Type C:\Program Files\Common Files into the text box and click OK.
4. Right-click the InstallShield folder, and select Rename.
5. Change the name to InstallShieldOld.
6. Start the game installation again to reinstall the InstallShield components with the newest version.

If your computers CD drive isn't on D:, then it wont work. To find out what it is on, go to My Computer, and look for the one that says something similar to "Sims(C:)". The letter may be different than what the book says, so whichever has the disk in it is going to be the one you use.

My game, The Sims 2 Double Deluxe has what you call a bug in it that did not appear until one day when I was playing because we had all the expansion packs and the pets disappeared from the game and I went and uninstalled and reinstalled, but I still get white things where trees, shrubs or landmarks should be. Has anyone figured out how to enable all sounds for BFV punkbuster servers using Vista? I'm told using service pack 4 mode it can work but you have to use a no-cd hack to avoid a message that says No CD in drive even though its in there.
