Epson SW515W printer - black doesn't print - have replaced cartridge - have performed Head Cleaning a number of times. What next?

If after cleaning the printer nozzle and still not working, Try to clean it manually by rubbing the print head in a plain paper and make sure ink flows and then try to print again. If ink flows and it does not print at all. The ink cartridge might be defective and the only option is to replace new orginal ink cartridge.

Ink is smearing

Ink may be flowing out of your tanks too fast, or your print head needs replaced (as a canon owner i know that canon printers are designed to ware the printer head) so do need replaced every now and then.
with epson printers you need to replace sponges, and canons need the heads replaced... and Lexmark printers need to be put in the trash!
But it might just be a ink tank flowing just to quick.
do about 3 or 4 print head cleans using your printer driver software and see if it helps.

Ink not flowing from cartridge

At this point, replace the cartridge. If you have pierced the cartridge, the ink can not be properly pumped from the cartridge.

Red ink not printing

the channels for the ink to flow are really minute [small] if ink dries up in them it can take some time to soften it up before anything will flow. try deep cleaning the printhead.
