Question about Kodak EASYSHARE Z1485 IS Digital Camera

1 Answer

Please Help! I bought a Kodak Easyshare Z1485 IS off eBay, and it came with nothing. At all. I just ordered a USB cable from Amazon so I can transfer photos to my Windows XP Pro computer. The camera seems to be working fine, and will more than serve my purpose for taking nice, simple photos easily. My question(s) are... Will I need any special software to download in order to transfer the pictures? Does anyone know where I can find it if so? Kodak site no longer has the software available for download they say. Is there a basic "Kodak Easyshare" download available for all models, or is it model-specific? Will I need any special drivers or other "stuff"? (Please forgive my ignorance, not too tech/computer savy...but I can follow simple instructions! :) Any help or info (or links!) would be so much appreciated! Also...if there is any recommended photo editing software download available, I would be forever grateful. Thanks so much.

You don't need any special software (or a USB cable, for that matter).

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Testimonial: "Thanks so much for all the helpful info! I actually had a card reader that I had never used, and it worked out perfectly. I also downloaded Picasa per your recommendation, and I love it! Thanks again! I thought I was stuck with a camera that I wouldn't be able to retrieve photos from. You saved the day! Jenifer"

SOURCE: MU EASYSHARE SOFTWARE STOPPED WORKING

!. remove all easy-share software.
2. Down load a free image editor such as Google Picasa

Windows does not need software from a camera CD to load images- it simple see camera an a removable drive.
A proper editing software is better than any 'get you started stuff' on a Camera CD>

there are two things,, you are either want to transfer the digital camera pictures from you camera, and other is you want to connect you camera to pc and want to shoot live,

for transfering,, generally with common drivers ,, once you connect to pc, you will get a drive letter in matter of seconds of time in your pc,, go to windows explorer and view you can find them..
