Why does both of my midland two way radios have alot of static

Did you buy them brand ?

If a handheld radios check your battery and/or antenna. Trade with a known good unit to see if the problem is solved with either. A poor battery can often cause static.

If a mobile radio, check your antenna connections and your antenna and coil. This could be a sign of a poor antenna or antenna set-up.

dont we all i have a hard time finding vitage . sams manual and other cb manuals sometimes had alot of different eq in them good luck

Not being familiar with the Midland brand, I personally can't give advice for for your query, but there is a solution!!!

Please join (FREE) yahoo group SPECIFIC to your radio Make/Model, I believe a group has started for this make of radio, so they are the people with the expertise and info to assist you, you can find free downloads for manuals, diagrams and software as well for your radio.

I do hope this leads to a resolution to the problem.

sounds like your geting RF feedback...get back away from other radios and try, hope this helps ,extend the antenna......

Ground the chassie

sounds like a problem to me . I have one that was in fair shape that had the same symptoms , I pounded the crop out of it with a hammer and now it doesn't recieve anything . You can't find a service manual for it ,unless midland will sell you one but don't hold your breath . Remember a 26 oz. hammer works good but not the radio.

Did you use the sub-codes? Where they tested indoors or out?
