Yamaha rx-v630 receiver won't play TV

I don't have the remote for the receiver.. I have my TV RCA components hooked into the output on the receiver and then I have the satellite RCA components on the dvd/cable on the receiver...I have tried every possible combination and no luck...any ideas of what I am doing wrong?

SOURCE: Yamaha Receiver RX-V630 not working (resets itself immediately)

This maybe an easy one. Have you unhooked all the wires going in to the stereo. "SP wires" means you have wires to the speakers are touching and the stereo is shutting down to avoid overloading. Hope this helps...

SOURCE: remote code

This can be a frustrating process! I have had similar problems in the past, but perseverance is key!

Please be sure that you did all of these tricks:

1 Be sure to press and HOLD down the appropriate input button while pressing the AV power button for 3 full seconds.

2 Enter the code. Unfortunately, you may have to try all of the codes listed for your manufacturer. There are 23 for Phillips! There are "only" 8 for RCA, so you might try that compnent first.

It sounds like you are doing the right things, but is it possible that you are accidentally hitting a wrong button during the process? ie; using the TV power button instead of the AV power button? After completion of the task, are you then hitting the proper component button, such as DVD before trying to use the remote to control that device?

I apologize if you have tried all of these things, but I am not sure of your level of expertise! Good Luck!

SOURCE: Playstation 3 audio connection into Yamaha HTR-6040 AV Receiver

Solved problem with Yamaha HTR-6040 AV Receiver. My daughter had inadvertently changed the program to "Direct Stereo" mode which allows sources to bypass the decoders and DSP processors so you can listen to 2-Channel PCM and Analog sources. Nothing to decode digital audio in this setting!

SOURCE: my wii won't play video through my Yamaha RX-V465.

This receiver doesn't support processing of video signal, only switching. This means that it can output only the same format of video. Only some more expensive models do upscaling from component/composite to HDMI out.

From HDMI out, you can output only signal that came via HDMI in 1-3. For component out, you can output only component in. The same for composite.

So in order to use wii through receiver to TV, you must connect receiver and TV also via the component cables.

Or other option is to connect component from wii directly to TV and connect only audio to receiver.

How to connect a turntable to Yamaha Rx-v630

If your turn table has a ground wire with the R and L wires then you can not connect it to this receiver. Unless you have a switch on the turn table that chooses between internal or external amp. If you have the switch, pick external amp and then run your R and L into your TV/CD input. Good luck to you.

WHERE IS THE AUDIO OUTPUT WHEN USING COMPONENT CABLES ON A YAMAHA RX-V571 RECEIVER

How are you hooking up the receiver to the dvd recorder? Component connections are only going to carry video. For audio, you would have to connect the cd-r output rca jacks to the recorder audio inputs.

I cannot figure out how to get sound through my Yamaha RX-V361 from my LG 37CS56 hdtv

Are you using any kind of Decoder or Set Top box to receive your TV signal?
If so you can connect the RCA OUTPUT from your cable or satellite decoder, to the Yamaha inputs. See the picture I have attached for you.
Then when you want to hear the sound from there, select DTV /CBL input on your remote control of the Yamaha receiver.

Or you can locate the SOUND or AV OUTPUT (Red and white RCA connection) at the back of you TV, and connect the cables from there to your Yamaha receiver.9_9_2012_6_50_32_pm.jpg

Setting up my rx v2400 to my tv

The setup may depend on your TV and other components and how you plan to use the system. Does your TV have analog or digital audio outputs? The receiver has analog and both types of digital inputs (coaxial and optical).

Use the best cables that you can. You can get all cables at online cable stores for much less than at the electronics big box stores. I'll assume that you already have the speakers connected to the receiver.

Next you can either connect your devices (cable box, blue-ray player) the receiver's inputs. Then connect the receiver's video out to the TV. This is great if you will only listen to the devices with the home theater system. Then you can also connect the TV audio out to the receiver for the OTA TV audio. For this you probably need component video cables and audio cables. These are all cables with RCA plugs.. Then get another audio cable for the analog or digital optical output of your TV. For some TVs the only audio out is the headphone jack. In that case, you also need a 3.5 mm to RCA adapter (the simplest is 3.5 mm M to RCA F/F for connecting to an RCA audio cable). For this method, you won't have to turn off the TV speakers most of the time; the TV won't have any audio.

Alternatively, connect each device audio/video out to the TV's input and then only connect the TV's audio out to the receiver DTV audio IN. Since the receiver doesn't have HDMI, this is the best option if your devices have HDMI out. For this, use the appropriate number of HDMI cables and the analog or digital optical audio cable from the TV to the receiver. Then turn off the TV speakers and enable the external speakers in the TV menu. You can connect to any of the receiver's inputs. If you use the labels, you'll find it easier to turn on the inputs.

If you have any devices with composite video output, use the same basic steps as for the component
The documentation for the RX-V2400 is available at the Yamaha product site: http://usa.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/hifi-components/stereo-receivers/rx-v2400_black__u/?mode=model . You'll need to be a registered Yamaha user (Easy-Pass) to read the manual online.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with your devices (including the model of the TV) for more specific information.

Can I connect component av cables "in" to my Yamaha RX-V365 and connect "out" to my TV and get both audio and video?

Receiver does support 3x component inputs and one component output. Both these can carry only video signal, not audio. So you have to connect audio separately, either stereo via analog 2x RCA connectors and digital SPDIC via optical (2x) or coaxial (1x) cable.

I just bought a yamaha rx-v365 receiver and hooked to my cable box via a hdmi and optic audio cable. this is working fine but i cant get a dvd player to work via a component and coax audio cable. neither...

Make sure that the DVD player is connected into the correct inputs on the receiver and that the receiver also has the correct input selected to play. If your TV also has component video inputs it is best to connect the player directly to the TV. Otherwise, make sure you have the TV connected to the receiver via component video out.

Yamaha RX-V630 Is not responding to the remote control unit

Replace the remote control with a universal remote (e.g. Logitech). It is more advanced and very user friendly with a help function if anything doesn't work.
Just follow the instructions in the unit's manual.
If you drop it; be sure to replace the batteries correctly.
Keep good batteries in it and enjoy the convenience of only one remote.
If still in trouble; just visit your local Yamaha dealer for help.
