Hello - Is it a rubbing or thumping noise? If so, it sounds like the tub could possibly be unbalanced from either a bearing/pulley suspension problem or the unit has broken something off in between the tub and outer portion of the unit. This is not a typical DIY job since the entire back panel of the unit needs to be pulled off and diagnosed. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Reach inside the drum and feel the drum inserts to see if one of those has come loose. Sometimes you can have one of those screws back out and hit something on the inside. Could also be a bent drum (doubtful unless its been overloaded or abused real bad) a front slide is bad (would probably cause squeeking or grinding noise) or rear bering (also should squeek or grind). Good Luck!!! Jim

SOURCE: frigidaire dryer model # FDEB34RGS2 Squeaking

The belts rarely squeal in a dryer and don't get wet, never need cleaned. What you describe sounds like possibly worn out drum slides on the front of the drum housing. Maybe even worn out felt seals. StanStihl has a good point about the idler pulley and drum rollers might need a drop of oil on their bearings. Just a drop or two though, too much and lint can build up on them.

Rodney, if the humming noise sounds like your motor is running but the drum does not turn you probably have a broken belt.

My frigidaire fer231cas2 makes a horrible loud GRINDING noise after its been running for 10 or so mins

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

I see that you have changed multiple parts within your Frigidaire dryer due to a grinding noise. Since you have changed the bearing cup, felt, pulley, and belt I would recommend having a technician come out to diagnose your appliance to avoid any further unnecessary part purchases. You could be seeing an issue within the drum or motor. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

It is so common that the washing machine can make terrible noise in many ways and is a common fault. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that machine is vibrating when it is running then the motor /drum suspension has to be inspected. Since these fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for the noise with a good inspection lamp. Manually turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the mounting is also very important. Finally in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve most issues.

For replacement of bearings check for tips on this visual link: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1401/how-to-replace-the-bearings-on-a-washing-mach.html

My Frigidaire dryer (Gallery series) will not start. It makes a buzzing noise every time i pres the start button.

This is a indication that the motor had shorted out to ground and everytime you press the start button the start and run windings of the motor are grounding out. You'll need a new motor for this fix.

My dryer is making a very loud screetching noise when the dryer is running. it is a full washer and dryer up and down from one another. electric

There are guide wheels and a tensioner in the back that hold the drum steady and the belt tight. The bearings on these can dry out and start to make some very irritaing noises. Pull the unit out and take the back off. Turn the drum slowly by hand and you will probably be able to tell what is makeing the noise. Some light motor oil or sewing machine oil should fix your problem. While your there it would not hurt to get a few drops of oil on all of the rollers and the tensioner pulley.

My Frigidaire heavy duty dryer stopped working. It has worked fine for 15 years. Now when I push the START button it makes a noise but does not start as usual.

The loud noise could be a faulty or worn out motor. Or if the motor is good, the drum bearings might be worn and motor cannot turn drum. You will most likely have to remove some access panels to get a closer look at where the sound is coming from. There is excellent videos and information on howstuffworks.com that will explain the workings of a dryer and troubleshooting and more.
But please feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

My front load stackable dryer is making very load squeaking noises when it starts up for about 15 minutes

The rear bearing for the drum needs to be greased. If you don't grease it and ignore it, eventually the dryer will stop working because you will be overloading the motor, and the motor will start drawing additional current that it will trip the breaker. Greasing the rear bearing is a 15 minute job. You need to purchase high tempo grease. Frigidaire sellsthe high trmp grease that is required.

It could be the belt was partially broken, and as it came apart causing the dryer to no longer start,,, it made the noise your talking about. If the dryer still heats up, and you can hear the motor running,,, these would all be signs toward a broken belt.
